The skeletons came out of the cupboard in this one.

The police rule Maya's death as a suicide brought on by the coercive and stalkerish actions of her estranged husband.

It means the husband does not get off scot free.

It is Sam who discovers the truth. Gareth, Owen and Anita have been all been involved in crimes and covering it up.

Sam was complicit in some of it. Sleeping with Anita's husband. Her daughter is Owen and Gareth's half sibling.

Maya would still be alive if she did not blurt out her plans to Anita.

The thriller element has some tense action as Sam faces danger. It is a shame that several episodes were just treading water.

Not sure I bought the ending. I think that sports brand was so toxic by the end, even Mike Ashley would not touch it with a bargepole.

A good end to the series.

Overall, I found this quite a disappointing series, the quality has been patchy, and the pacing at times was generally frustrating, however I thought it ended with a much better episode.

This was well paced, gritty, and delivered a few surprises. It definitely had a message, it didn't shy away from calling out abuse for what it is, and condemning those that do it, and facilitate it.

Sadly it wasn't enough to change my overall opinion of the series, it would have been better if it was done over three episodes.

It wasn't perhaps too hard to guess who the perpetrator (s) was, there were clues.

Very well acted, Peake, Batt and Steadman were all terrific.

7/10.
