Warning: Spoilers
Finally, the tenth episode of the remade V delivers on its premise's potential. Unfortunately, this comes just two episodes before the end of the first season and the overall story has barely moved since episode 1. Still, this is the best episode yet.

V is such a good concept that a remake was unavoidable. What could have been avoided, however, was a sluggish plot. Did the makers of V not see Surface? That was an even *greater* premise wasted because the series was sloooooowww... It's a miracle V 2.0 hasn't suffered Surface's fate. Season 2 better pick up the pace. Another flaw that is likely to become infamous is the jaw-droppingly poor green screen effects work. Whenever there are actors and CGI sharing the screen, pretty much every viewer's eye will instinctively tell that something is wrong with the image. The actors seem constantly disconnected from the CGI'd surroundings. And the CGI explosions are just embarrassing. An explosion is better to do the Old School way: by blowing $#it up for real.

What makes this one the best one yet is a sense of urgency fatally lacking from the previous episodes. Remember The Soldier lurking in the bushes for *hours*? Boooorrrring. No such idiocy here. It's full speed from start to end and *this* time even the "n hours earlier" structure is done correctly. Plus, the ending really hammers home the inhumanity of the Vs ("Vees"?). Also, for the supposedly imaginary Juliet's Cans Fan Club consisting of viewers of Lost, there is a dramatically unnecessary treat in the boxing scene. Yes, there is dialog between J--, sorry, Erica, and Hobbes that becomes meaningful later on, but Father Jack was *already* boxing. There was no *need* for Erica to box. I wouldn't be surprised if people started referring to "Erica's Cans Fan Club", whether it is real or not. Anyway, 8/10 - a first for the new V.
