A very interesting excursion.

I enjoyed very much this excurion in the Valley of the Roya: beautiful landscapes and nice encounters.

There are some interesting aspects of the region: the portraits of the villagers on the viaduct of Tende (the photographer Géraldine and Estelle speaking about the tenacity and the courage of these villagers who have stayed in the village) , th Italian culture in the valley (people coming from the Piedmont, some communes became French in 1947, the guide Annie showing her village to te visitors, the two chapels and the two groups of "pénitents"-secular people helping to deprived people-), the importance of the associations of volunteers (Martial Lyonnais and the volunteers cleaning an unnderground water canal obstructed by sand and stones after the storm Alex, Fabrice Roy and the volunteers installing 1000 meters of new water pipes for the house of his parents), the Roya's Sisters ( Julia, Charlie, Diane and Pauline, the hiking guide Charlie and the walk in the National Park of Mercantour, the 4000 years old petroglyphs, the guesthose manager Pauline, the welness practitioner Diane, the cooking workshop- the tourteaux or pies, the local vegetables and aromatic plants), Breil-sur-Roya ( Denis and the Ecomusée du Train des Merveilles-the model trains-, the railway track for Nice to Cuneo built in 1928-90 bridges and 105 tunnels, thge travel in the Train des Merveilles with the guide Lucie, the great help of the trains after the storm Alex), the green transports in the valley (François and Pul and their mountain bike, the sharing of letric bike at Morignole, the new experimentation hydrogen bikes) and the National Park of Mercantour (the great biodiversity-the chamois and the Alpine ibex-, the "Refuge des Merveilles", the hikers, Yann and Aude in charge of the refuge, the volunteers, the shepherd Alan and his "Brigasque" sheep).

I enjoyed the encounters of Ismaël with Camille Aupois , Solange and Damien Beranger at Tende, with Patrick Teisseire, Barthélemy Lanteri and Baptiste at La Brigue, with Nathalie, Rémy and Naïs Masseglia, Rafael Pilares, Serge and Murielle and Alain Brunelli at Breil-Sur-Roya; nice encounters with very kind French men and women.
