Can someone release a Daisy-less edit of this?
shrik33 September 2022
The jokes are good and I like the format. Greg Davies is a good host and a nice change of pace from his run on Teskmaster.

Noel Fielding is always great to see on regular TV and not just as a guest on other shows.

Not a single guest has been annoying so far. It's also nice to see British artists on TV doing something else than plugging their albums.

But holy hell is Daisy May Cooper annoying. Her infernal screeching laugh to Every. Single. Joke. Is just too much to take. Could they turn off her mic or something? Not every joke is as funny as she pretends it is. It's like she's one of those people who get a bit drunk and just laugh at every single word they hear - just because.

Any reboot was risky.

This one paid off.

It didn't hurt that four of the panelists have been on Taskmaster and therefore know Greg Davies pretty well and the two musicians were up for a laugh and had a huge amount of front but I've not laughed this hard for months. The ad breaks were a distraction but not a terminal one.

Best advice, don't let nostalgia kill it for you, it's been six years.

Daisy so annoying

I loved This Country, but the way Daisy May Cooper fake laughs and throws herself around is utterly annoying and completely false.

The add noises and smacking the desk over any hint of comedy is ridiculous.

Her antics completely ruin the show.

Loved the original but thought this one was just as good. Roll on episode 2.

Please get rid of her

Really looked forward to the reboot, being a fan of Greg Davies and Noel Fielding I thought this was going to be great. How wrong I was, the inclusion of Daisy May Cooper has to be the most cringeworthy addition that I can only believe was done to sabotage the reboot from its inception.

Her forced laughter /histrionic screeching supplemented by banging the table drove me mad throughout. Didn't they screen test this? Either she's on medication or should be.

NMTB was great and still could be if she is shipped off ASAP.

As enjoyable as dysentery....

Where do you start, Greg whilst a great comedian is nowhere near acerbic or cutting enough, the team captains are terribly dull and this is just a neutered knock off of a once great show...

A Terrible Cover Version
ianjustfloors21 September 2021
Maybe I'm a little bias as I ,and many of my generation , thought that the original series was one of the most consistently brilliant & funny as f&@k programs ever made. Or maybe it's because millennial pop stars are as bland & generic as the music "they" produce.

Greg Davies is a decent host ,but he's more embarrassing dad than acerbic & slik Mark Lamar.

It's great to see Noel Fielding back from baking purgatory, but why does he need a permanent side man in Jamali Maddix?

Daisy May Cooper wtf ! Surely there was someone else available who actually looked like they'd once listened to radio x rather than radio 4?

Either kill the series now or change Davies , Cooper & Maddix, mix real musicians in with the manufactured ones or this series will ruin the the real NMTB's legacy.

Very very very disappointed.
