The Skinner: Fan Service
forla-107-46311930 October 2021
The only ones who can do harm now are the writers.

The basics are there, perhaps not very courageous (I would have dismantled the Post Office and kept the Blacklist described in Nachalo, with the 17 technological offices around the world) but finally all the characters have space and importance, Red is no longer the sick grandpa of the past two seasons and everything portends action, fun and introspection on the private life of each of them.

This episode screams "fan service" in every scene but that's exactly what the viewers want, including the irony.

Megan Boone wanted to leave and will discover, as happens to everyone in life sooner and later, that she is not indispensable.

The Blacklist had been spinning on itself for a couple of seasons due to its own mythology, now it can finally explore all those aspects that already made us love it (the blacklisters, the task force, the intrigues, the mysterious and fascinating Red's life) but which were becoming less important because they needed to make room for Liz's life too.

It is too early to claim victory but the path is right.

[7.8] Welcome to The new Blacklist!
cjonesas18 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 2: A more interesting episode with the old, strong and charismatic Reddington. The storyline was suspenseful, the atmosphere electric and the ending, beginning a new era for the new Skinner promising.

It's just that without Elizabeth Keen and her quest, it does not feel like The old Blacklist. It's like a new series from scratch.

Reddington is back!
kstorma-8828329 October 2021
Reddington is back, weak no more. Spader is the wonderful, smart, witty, sexy RR that we met in the first season. The other characters of Cooper, Ressler, Aram and Park are smarter too; no more keystone cops. This season should lead to more.

REDDINGTON IS BACK
somodgodana31 October 2021
This episode brought back the Reddington that we've come to know and love... The last time I saw Reddington this active was in Season 5. THE Show is back why a bang baby and that is what's up. The taskforce is back and with Cynthia in the Senate things are going to be BOOM with it without Keen the show must go on.

SPOILERS: Great episode gets The Blacklist back on track.
TheRealLamontCranston29 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Better without all that tired Liz, Liz, Liz wrangling.

Boy she was a major pain in the neck.

The kissing scene was a bit cringy, and, children in danger always puts me off.

Otherwise, it was a great episode Restoring everything and everybody is a good idea.

Red is Red and all is good.

No mystery anymore
achissko1 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Even the episode was good, it feels pointless to continue to watch now that liz is dead and there is no one interested enough to search in red's identity more than liz.

So Now Someone is Giving This a One Star Rating
Hitchcoc13 December 2022
I'm really sick of many of the reviewers who give a single star to a particular episode. Even at its worst, a show like this has entertainment value, suspense, and excitement. To dislike a character like Elizabeth and to dismiss the entire episode is juvenile at best. It's as if a show like The Blacklist is supposed too fulfill some sort of empty need on someone's part. Now it's saying, is it going to be a new challenge each week without continuity? First of all, that is pure speculation. And secondly, most shows of this genre have new adventure each week (or a couple combined episodes). I thought it was great that we now have Red in a new power position and we have the task force back in business. Let's face it. The whole thing is a fiction, so let's have fun!

A 'S' Tattoo
ZegMaarJus6 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This Episode begins with The Skinner, he kills a guy in front of the Chen's family. The team get their headquarters back. Alina and Aram arrested Chen. The Skinner shot Wei in her leg. Portnoy shot The Skinner to death. Cooper gives the microchip codes back to Chen. Red becomes the new Skinner. Nice Episode of The Blacklist Season 9, Red is 'The Skinner' now. He has the 'S' tattoo.

What's the point anymore?
dharmacrown-8368430 October 2021
I'm glad Liz is out of the picture as her presence in the last 2 seasons was annoying but on the big picture it seems like the show doesn't have a point anymore. Where is the mystery? Is it just going to be the new 'number of the week' every episode? Or are we going to have some new big mystery?

No liz
brkany3 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
With no Liz and Mr. Kaplan this show is dead.

Breaking the task-force and bring it back like kids toys and the writers have nothing to add, making Red strong again and being the new skinner is good but what the point.
