Despite other less complimentary reviews, I found the final episode a heart-warming finale to a beautifully filmed, carefully faithful adoption of Kate Atkinson's novel.

The attention to detail in costume, scenery & British the stiff upper lip along with the footage from WWII makes you wonder "what if" & it show's the heartbreak of Ursula's loss when Teddy dies.

Another British drama that they don't know how to end

The first 3 episodes, were outstanding! They kept me riveted, so you can imagine how disappointed the last episode was. All this time, Ursula was apparently dying and being reborn, because she had "something left to do", and yet at the end - nothing different happened! It basically meant that the whole premise of the storyline, was a complete waste of time. You may as well have the opening credits, then jump to the last 30 seconds, say "nothing changes", then finish! Such a shame as it was a promising short series, but ended up a complete let down. I give 3 stars simply for the first 3 episodes....

A terrible ending to a pretentious and turgid series. A vapid and vacuous story, being neither as intelligent nor as sophisticated as it purports to be.
