Best episode yet
tristan_1931 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Breathe with Me is the best episode of Season 7 yet. It is filled with emotions. We can all get behind the plot of this episode : looking for Wendell. The characters are true to themselves in this one. And there is a couple of little twists. Josiah is actually a fantastic addition, and the writers do not repeat themselves with the same storyline as Emile. The dialogue also feels natural, and the pacing is good. For an episode 4, it is really strong.

Better than I thought it would be
ethanjjacobs31 October 2021
I definitely didn't think a Sarah episode was necessary but I still enjoyed it, it was nice to see all of the characters and I thought the episode was decent, I think Josiah is a great new character and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him.

6.9/10.

Not a masterpiece either, but...
athirn3 November 2021
At least this one is more adequate than the previous episodes. I even felt something other than annoyance-empathy, gratitude, understanding... and hope. I do hope, that Wendell will get back to the show, since Daryl Mitchell promised his partner Mo he was ready for another season. :) Nice episode. At last.

Definitely the worst episode yet this season
matp-476008 November 2021
I personally didn't mind the first 2 episodes this season, despite the glaring inconsistencies in science and logic of fallout and radiation that just can't be ignored. Episode 3 was a bit of a slog but all 3 of these episodes are redeemed by the lead actors Lennie James, Coleman Domingo, Karen David, Jenna Elfman and Keith Carradine. Mo Collins however, is clearly not good enough to Carry an episode on her own, as is shown in this episode. Luckily the new character Josiah is promising enough to keep us somewhat interested.

Everything Sarah did or said in this episode seemed so awkward, every movement and every line of dialogue was just so... off.

It's sad to see how the show has deteriorated since Season 6, which in my opinion is the best in the series or at least on par with Season 3. It certainly isn't doing the show any favours that a lot of the best characters still have yet to appear - namely Dwight and Alycia.

Reminds Me Of The "Swear" Episode From TWD
nativebloodcayo1 November 2021
This was singlehandedly the most flat and boring episode of the series. Not only does Mo Collins fail to lead this episode, the writers acknowledge the fact she can't carry the episode so they bring in another actor for her to hang with throughout the episode in search of the long lost Wendell.

My question is: who cares? These characters have never been developed or made the audience invested in them whatsoever so... why should we care? Why spend a whole hour episode on a character literally no one wanted in the first place?

This reminds of TWD's "Swear."

Solid
Martin_West1221 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This one was pretty good, and much better than what I expected it to be. Sarah has always been a fun character to watch, but was partly forgotten in season 6. Now it was finally Mo Collins' turn to shine in an emotional thriller, where the search for Sarah's brother Wendell takes an unexpected turn. I was a little skeptical of Demetrius Grosse's comeback in the series, but Josiah proved to be an incredibly good addition!

On some occasions, it feels a little strange that Morgan always seems to be close to where things are happening. Still, I think Fear is so entertaining these days, that such coincidences do not bother me significantly. Really solid episode overall, the tension between Morgan and Strand, the stalkers and the undetonated warhead makes me very interested in the next upcoming episodes. And what is Padre?

Not bad, but not necessary and definitely not perfect.
frankiesilver-9183623 June 2022
This episode focused on Sarah which is something I didn't expect since she's never seemed like a lead character to me, but I think what they did worked decently enough.

The concept of a bounty hunter working with her to find her brother is interesting and Josiah seems really cool (but also just acknowledgement they killed off Emile too soon). I hope the theories of him being the same Josiah from Abraham and Eugene's group are true.

The fight scenes and scenery in this episode were also top notch. Morgan vs Josiah was amazing.

I will say I was disappointed with how Sarah's group was just escorted right outside of the radiation zone without any real answers about the CRM. I'm hoping eventually Morgan gets answers and him and Al are taken away to be in the movies. Alicia should be leading this show anyway.

Also my current prediction is that Strand is lying and doesn't have Wendell, I'm guessing Sarah will eventually find his walker.

Regardless this episode wasn't too bad, maybe just a bit unrealistic especially with Josiah. Super excited for Dwight's episode next though!

Best Episode in a While
Erik-Movie-Reviews2 November 2021
Considering how horrible the first three Episodes of this Season have been, it's amazing they got this one right.

The first three Episodes have some of the Worst and Most Boring Dialogue we've heard in the Entire Series and the featured characters were as Dull as Dishwater.

This Episode was fast moving, and the new character Demetrius has potential and you wonder why the other Episodes this Season were so bad.

What the Writers and Management should do is turn each of the Ridiculously Large and Boring Members of the Cast into Zombies one by one. Focus on a Core Group of 6-8 Talented Remaining Members and get rid of the Rest.

What the hell has happened to the show?!!!
peeedeee-942818 November 2021
This isn't even the SAME show as last season. They're using the same actors, same characters, but it's NOT the same show. It's like someone decided to start it from scratch. The whole nuclear wasteland angle is really stupid. It looks like it's all shot on a sound stage, it just looks cheap, like some horrible B movie set. The editing is horrible.

I see they are wrapping up World Beyond as well. I guess the Walking Dead franchise has finally reached the end. I am okay with Fear also being put out of its misery, if this is the new direction they're going to take. I bet Alicia doesn't even return, that's how bad this season has been.

S7.E4 - Just Mediocre [6/10]
panagiotis199312 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
(S7. E4) My Reaction / Review for Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 4 ''Breathe With Me'': Episode 3 was mediocre and I gave it a rating of 6/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Nice to see that this episode has more than two characters. Daniel seems to have dementia. Finally an episode where we see clearly, without the yellow filter. This bounty hunter is the twin brother of Emile, a bounty hunter just like his brother. To be honest I don't care if Sarah's brother is alive. Wendell is alive and he is with Victor? That's nice. Or Victor could be lying. Overall this was another mediocre and somewhat boring episode, my rating is 6/10.

It's difficult enough to power through the garbage this show shovels out every episode without killing dogs.
shinnstoneer25 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The best part of Breathe With Me is the comically looking dufus showrunner explaining in the post credit how awesome this, this and this is and how emotionally this and this and then that was for them in this episode. Take one look at this guy and all the awfulness is understandable. So why do I watch? I attach too much to characters if I like them.

I want to see Morgan's journey. But tell me this...if I had told you ten years ago (or so) when Rick rode off towards Atlanta that Morgan would be living in a beached submarine on the coast of nuclear devastated Texas with a woman and a baby but neither of them is a parent of the kid, what would you have thought? This is a live action fantasy horror cartoon and it is poorly done. I mean Victor strand in full blown communist dictator clothing is so bad it wouldn't have made it on Saturday mornings 40 years ago.

I wish I could just forget the characters I like but unfortunately for me, I can see inanimate objects emotionally so I'm hooked once I like any character.

I just hope the guy who lives in his grandparents garage because his parents live in their basement so it wasn't available for him who plays a showrunner on television doesn't kill any more dogs and I will put up with everyone survives ten nuclear detonations and the radiation despite still living within a 100 mile radius. What? Ohhh, yeah, they did say the wind has blown one direction for months so it's all good for them...sigh.

The franchise that really put zombie entertainment into a proper, dramatic and emotional context on television has become a bigger parody of the genre than Z Nation ever considered possible.

"Breathe With Me," offers an intense exploration of survival, loyalty, and betrayal amidst the backdrop of the ongoing apocalypse
fernandoschiavi29 April 2024
Living in an old fort with the rest of Morgan's group following their rescue by Isabelle, Sarah begins an obsessive search for Wendell, who has been out of contact since the nuclear blast. Sarah encounters Josiah, who offers to help her find Wendell if she will help him get revenge on Morgan for the death of his brother Emile. Sarah reluctantly takes the deal and she, Josiah and his dog Rufus find Wendell's broken wheelchair in the possession of Sage, one of the Stalkers who has been collecting walkers and dispersing them around the area. In a moment of grief, Sarah causes Josiah's SUV to run off the road and crash near a cracked nuclear warhead which failed to detonate. As walkers surround them, Josiah encourages Sarah not to give up on Wendell and shares some of his past with her, bonding with Sarah.

With the help of Morgan, Sarah and Josiah eliminate the herd, but Josiah attempts to kill Morgan and get his revenge. The struggle ends when Rufus is bitten by Emile's disembodied head before Sarah puts Emile's head down. Josiah tearfully euthanizes Rufus and makes amends with Morgan. Morgan and Josiah lead Sarah to the Tower where Strand reveals that he has Wendell, but he refuses to let Sarah in. After making Strand promise not to tell Wendell she was there, Sarah and Morgan part ways with Josiah and Morgan promises Sarah that they will get all of their friends back. At the same time, Sage recovers the warhead and brings it to the rest of the Stalkers.

In the seventh season of "Fear the Walking Dead," episode 4, titled "Breathe With Me," offers an intense exploration of survival, loyalty, and betrayal amidst the backdrop of the ongoing apocalypse. This episode primarily focuses on Sarah's journey to find her missing brother, Wendell, which adds a deeply personal quest to the overarching narrative of survival against the undead and human threats.

The episode begins with Sarah receiving a garbled message that she believes could be from Wendell, prompting her to embark on a dangerous rescue mission. Accompanied by a reluctant Luciana and a wary Daniel, they traverse toxic storm-ravaged landscapes, which the episode captures with visceral visual effects and moody, oppressive cinematography. This setting not only heightens the physical peril faced by the characters but also reflects the internal turmoil they experience.

One of the most powerful scenes unfolds when Sarah confronts a group of survivors who have taken Wendell hostage. The tense negotiation and ensuing conflict demonstrate not only the brutality of the world they inhabit but also the moral complexities the characters face. Each decision comes with weighty consequences, and Sarah's resolve is tested to its limits. The episode excellently uses this confrontation to delve into themes of familial bonds and the lengths one will go to preserve them in a world where every choice could mean life or death.

Critically, "Breathe With Me" excels in its character development and its ability to maintain suspense and emotional intensity. Sarah's character is given substantial depth and complexity as she navigates her fears and hopes for her brother's safety. The episode's pacing is meticulous, effectively building tension and providing just enough narrative progression to keep the viewers engaged without revealing too much.

Let's kill the dog! This show has gone beyond worse.
mhorg20187 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Just a terrible episode. Do these 'writers' even think before they put up a story? Do they have any logic at all? Why would the dog be infected from a zombie bite when we've seen no zombie animals? Why have Rufus only to kill him off? With the zombie apocalypse, would there really be a need for bounty hunters? Other than ones who hunt down walkers, skin-bags, zombies? How did they survive that crash (which was nearly as dumb as Darryl and carol falling off a highway in a van and surviving) without airbags deploying? Sarah at least should have had flail chest from hitting the steering wheel! And they're what? Fifty feet from an open nuclear warhead and nothing happens to them? NOTHING? This show started out poorly, has had a few decent episodes, and now is mostly down. This entire lets launch nukes over Texas idea was one of the dumbest and shows that none of the writers bothers researching a damn thing. Please, end this mess. Time for the Walking Dead Franchise to stagger off into the sunset.

Omg. So bad
baldrics-974-4602709 November 2021
They must have started using the same writers as world beyond. 3 year olds I would think based on how purine the story has turned. Acting is wooden, plot just going in circles, all pretty aimless. It is only habit keeping me watching. I ditched World Beyond.

The cinematography is truly terrific and stunning, Breathe with Me benches multiple characters for Sarah in an episode full of bad writing
Holt3448 November 2021
Tara Nicole Weyr directed this week's episode of Fear TWD. She does an amazing job with the direction and visual storytelling, the camera work and cinematography are all quite great. The sound editing and musical score is fantastic. Though an impressive production, the good things sadly stop there. The writing is flawed and unbearable at times, the dialogue are mostly unrealistic but meets the showrunners standard. At least the sets are improved in this episode, using some nice scenery and locations instead of its B movie sets that is the nuclear wasteland.

Against the advice of the group, Sarah searches for Wendell, and in the process encounters a dangerous survivor who forces her to take part in a search of his own. That's the premise of the episode and well it's nice to see Emile's twin brother getting some screen time before his cameo in episode 2. Having Sarah be the focus and perspective, thus putting characters like Luciana and Al on the bench along with everyone else who escaped via the helicopter, honestly it sickens me. Sarah is a decent character and Mo Collins does a good job but honestly in terms of Fear TWD and its characters, choosing Sarah instead of Luciana is just wrong on so many levels. Sarah is a good side character but she's far from a leading character. I have wondered what happened to Wendell, but making an entire episode focused on Sarah trying to find him is just bad because of how it's only her and not others. Are they even main characters anymore? Or just guest appearances.

"Breathe with Me" was overall a decent episode, but it didn't meet my expectations. It was better than the previous two episodes but that doesn't say anything, all the problems that this season is having still exists in this episode. For a serialized TV show, this episode shows once again how this season have failed immensely on that level. But on the technical side of things, is where the episode shines with great cinematography and direction. Though a decent episode: the writing, pacing and showrunners anthology format drags the rating down immensely. I also want to address my opinion regarding the focus and plot of this season, so far. The truth? There are too many characters and the showrunners have only added, there is no real tension or unpredictable nature in the show anymore. So many of the interesting and main characters gets almost no screen time. Focusing solely on Victor Strand and his community and Morgan Jones, their rivalry, their feud. Would have been great storytelling, but the writers and showrunners are unable to succeed in the execution. I need to bring up something... Again. Why don't they just leave, it's confirmed by now that they can. Showrunners, don't go through with an idea when you haven't fully thought it out yet. It makes for a terrible TV show. Also the car crash, wow that was bad.

Dictator Strand
vam-vm8 November 2021
Evil power hungry Strand. Dictator cap and jacket to boot. Seems the writers have run out of ideas for the next bad foe to go against so they make one of the group the villain. Why should Strand have such enmity toward Morgan, to the point of trying to kill him in the submarine? He now takes evil delight in denying certain people entrance to the tower. He even has the stereotypical devoted underling at his side trying to look menacing. It's almost laughable.

There are a lot of coincidences on Fear. Necessary no doubt to move the story along. Morgan popping up in the nick of time in this ep and so many others. The real WTF moment came when the truck Sara and Josiah was in flew down a fifty foot mountainside and landed grill first on the ground. No injuries at all. They weren't even wearing seat belts.

Reminded me of the Saturday serials at local theatres back before tv in the 40's. At the end of each episode Batman ,in this care, would be in a harrowing situation. Trapped in an airplane in one episode that showed B M struggling to get loose,, then boom, the plane exploded. No way could he have survived, but the next Saturday when the show started B M had a lot more time to get loose than they made it look like in the preceding episode. Those Serials were cheap as heck and terribly acted.

Shockingly......
Rob-O-Cop2 November 2021
Bad.

This was like a 4 year old writing a daytime soap opera.

Mo does not have the chops to carry anything except the comic relief slot she's previously been given, and this episode proved it.

Last week it was good actors given bad material, and this week it's weak actors being given, well, terrible material. It wasn't really fair on Mo, to have to deliver that garbage. The 'hold me back, I'll break you teeth if you stop me looking for my brother' when she woke up, please........... cringe. Did that cliche actually look good on paper? Why would you make an actor deliver that rubbish? How many people had to turn a blind eye to that scene for it to get to our screen?

Just awful. I'd hope the cast and crew were ashamed of themselves but obviously no one's paying attention or has any sense of quality there.

Melodrama
sigelm10 November 2021
At the end of the episode I was seriously expecting violins to start playing - yes, it was that lame. Lots of things that were so illogical that I don't want to waste my time enumerating. I hope this season will be the last, and that's a pity given that the season 6 was possibly the best season of the whole franchise, that is until they decided to go forward with this nuclear blast storyline. Nuclear blast and Teddy just killed the whole show.

Unbelievably Boring
jgloshoe31 October 2021
What went on in the showrunners' heads when they said "hey, let's do a Sarah episode!" Do they think we'd care? Do they think we'd care about a character who's had zero development in the past 3 seasons and has served as a comedic relief?

Think of it like this: what if The Walking Dead a whole episode about Jerry looking for Nabila? Would we really care?

Trucker Girl & A Random Twin
latoyaoff31 October 2021
This by far one of the worst episodes of the series. I don't get how the writers are making bottle episodes for background characters, seriously? Mo Collins? A 1 hour Mo Collins episode? Who are we kidding? No one cares about her. Is the anthology season a ploy to try to manage the budget and pay the cast less? What's the point of all these bottle episodes? And why is the walkie talkies ranging from halfway across the state? That's so unrealistic. And the pacing is so so slow.

God a episode about Sarah?

Really?

Season 5 quality right here.

These showrunners are terrible at their job and have been ever since they fired Kim Dickens.
