Wild Ride With Ups And Downs

An element of cool seems to surround this game in a pulp fiction diesel punk sort of way. A good deal of action and although there is flying, jumping, running, and other maneuvers, most of the game play is zoom shooting. Being futuristic adds an appeal, upgrades are available, and a nice little variety of weapons to choose from to fire. The flying scenes I found to be the most fun, whether it's by jet pack or in a ship of any sort. Story is interesting, there's a plot and some relationship dynamics going on. Bad guys (the Watchers) are sleek looking and are creative design engineers. Controls are relatively easy to use for shooting and special weapons. Camera angles/directing, keep the elements of the game interesting like a sci-fi adventure. Exciting super enemies to fight.

On the downside, controls can be a bit frustrating and there are a few cheap-death moments it seems. Save points lock you into starting at the beginning of the chapter if you quit the game despite auto-save checkpoints within the chapter. Some hammy parts including historical figures/tie-ins as well as the "only hope" trope. Finally, the ending...that ending...okay, I think they were REALLY hoping for a sequel, because this story ending was very short and depressing.

Overall a great adventure, just some refinements needed as well as a more complete, immersive tale.

A breath of fresh air

This was truly the best third person shooter I've played in a very long time. The movie-like storyline, a tale of ex daters being pared up on a plane, goes wrong. This game destroys other third person titles by a total new perspective, and not to mention some of the coolest guns yet. It's somewhat flimsy in the fact of how it sometimes feels repetitive, but that's usually backed up with some cool cut scene or some huge boss battle. The game ended a bit abruptly, but that was fine. The last scene was great, and really got me hooked. Also, the variety of enemies means that this game is a real brain cruiser. This game also delivers some great graphics, so be ready for some action-packed, fast action, shelf cleaning carnage!
