Bullies never win.

Ben joins the kids on a quiz night, and ends up almost in a fight.

A new series, and once again it's Robert Lindsay that provides the laughs, no Susan, instead we see Ben fight off his childhood miseries, a School Bully.

The scenes of Ben training are the funniest parts, he is tremendous. It does miss Susan, but Alfie and Michael give a few laughs.

S9 of the much loved BBC sitcom kicks off oddly with a Susan-less episode, but a fun one nonetheless.

Robert Lindsay's Ben gets put down by a potential bully at a pub quiz, and then tries to get fit to take them on.

Although this episode plays a bit fast/loose with the shows continuity (didn't Ben say back in S1 that his bully at school was Digger Beaumont?) this is a great episode, with Robert Lindsay really at the centre of things, with everyone else in the ensemble cast (Janey,Michael, Alfie, and even Roger) also being given lots to do.

I liked the 'eye of the tiger' sequence, and even the subplot involving Michael/Alife and Kenzo.

A really good start to S9.
