In this episode, we know more the intention of Assane and what his plan to trap Pelligrini. Pretty interesting episode even if its more slower than the last episode. It have some great moments. And again an other cliffhanger who want us to watch the next episode. Want to know what happen to the pelligrini family.

Increasingly stupid

Warning: Spoilers
I'll make this short as it just isn't worth wasting too much time on a review when the plot is this silly.

This episode pretty much revolves around a bit of deception on the part of Assane. Juliette is made to believe something based on something she sees on her computer. Fine ... or at least it would have been if the deception had caused her to act immediately and that it wouldn't have mattered if she had discovered later that she had been deceived.

The problem with the plot is that it depends entirely on Juliette never finding out in the following hours that she had been deceived. The assumption is that Juliette will not once turn on the tv to see the news, not once glance at a newspaper headline the following morning, not listen to the radio, not chat to friends or her father about the news of the day and realize that, hey, it's odd that the biggest story I just saw on my computer isn't actually being talked about anywhere else. For the rest of the episode (a period that covers multiple days) she never notices the deception.

As to the idea that Pellegrini could skim off 85% of all donations to the foundation without her daughter, the head of the foundation, noticing that there was just a wee bit of a shortage in what was in the bank account compared to the donations being made? Ludicrous.

I don't even want to think about the closing scene in Pellegrini's household with the police. Evidence? One of the richest men in the country? Junior police officer even if he does have a warrant? Really?

Stupid doesn't cover it.

Schoolyard drama

Warning: Spoilers
This episode started to go south about midway, but pulled through in the end with some twists. Hard to believe that there's still all this drama being pulled up from high school. Storyline was decent and the acting okay.

Fun to watch, but...

Warning: Spoilers
The second series is fun to watch, but can't hold a candle to the first five episodes. Part 2, episode 3 is a good example. Assane is able to pull off a brilliant ruse, and then walks right into a trap like a total idiot.

Chapter 8
Prismark105 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Assane gets serious. After Hubert Pellegrini used his son Raoul as bait as well as putting his life in danger.

Assane goes after Pellegrini by focusing on his daughter Juliette. Not by putting her in danger.

Assane brings Juliette some meaning to her life by being daring and spontaneous.

It's all a set up and the audience probably knows this.

More revealing was Pellegrini's charitable fundraising being a con. He creams 85% for his own ends by using financial trickery.

A lower key episode but one that still shows that Assane has a gameplan. The walls might be closing in on Pellegrini.

Warning: Spoilers
Yes, it's a fun story. Lots of twists and turns. The difference between this an a much better mystery thriller is that it depends so much on people falling right in line with the set up. In other words, the foundations are so fragile that the slightest slip-up and its all over. The meeting in the restaurant and the escape on the scooter are ridiculous. Some things, like the painting scam, are fun but way over the top. It was fun seeing Pellegrini taken off in handcuffs, but with his money, we know this is not over. The mother really folded fast and that was also hard to believe. Assane is lurking all over the place. His relationship to Juliet is going to crumble at some point. Anyway, I hoped that the Lupin/Assane character would be on to something else. But now I'm afraid we have three seasons of the same thing.
