They are exploring an unknown Earth type planet, but are not worried about pathogens just because the air is breathable...WTH?! This is similar to the silliness in the Alien franchise prequels. They would never survive on an actual space mission.

This show is all over the place. This is a group of the most unstable and incapable scientist/space explorers. It's almost farcical. There is supposedly a charter that says do not colonise a planet with a civilisation on it but the trigger happy colonist shoots to kill on first contact. And then blames the other chick for ruining their chances of establishing a colony and the other characters don't even object to that hypocrisy. It's melodrama trying hard to be serious.
They've crossed over from amateurs to kids in space

Warning: Spoilers
Our crew of misfits travel to a new world and learned nothing from the 2nd episode. They misused EVA suits in episode 2 and learned nothing from it. Here they forego that disaster by completely abandoning EVA suits altogether. Well, they would not have had an episode had they used the EVA suits.
The parallels to Battlestar Galactica are continuing. They want to build a small house on this foreign planet like they did near the end of BG. I'm sorry, but this is the last episode for me. The absurd premise of amateurs going into space to find out about the alien artifact that landed on earth and making every mistake possible is just too much for me. Bye bye now.
