Funny show.

The San Fernand Red character was always uneven, sometimes he's a bragging, but cowardly W.C. Fields-like figure, given some kind of temporary or feeble authority over something, or as in this story, he's just an out-and-out confidence man. When Godfrey comes in, the story has Fenando trying to bunco him with several shabby ways of trying to convince him he can make it rain. Then, they go up in an(apparently Godfrey's) aeroplane and seed the clouds. Why didn't he do that himself? Much of the humor comes from something the writer's didn't put in, and that is that both are slightly inebriated. They trip each other's lines when Godfrey's not stealing Red's payoffs, and they try to top each other at the expense of the story, which ends up without making a lot of sense. It would seem a lot of the skit was edited out or not done. But I would tend to think that this approach is inadvisable for most comedians.
