even though it is only 5 mins long, it gives you enough information on he main character, a femme fatale, and her predicament. the plot is fairly simple and has been simple in certain films like Duplicity and Oceans Eleven and such....what make this short, refreshing and unique, is its style. shot in black and white with french dialogue. But, its the scope of this short film that i love so much. it never leaves the scope of the main character, never over steps its bounds onto the man desired or her past or anything else, it stays with her and only with her...it also keep a very nice rhythm with the soft cello music and the dialogue and the pause of certain scene.....very beautiful and even touching. i loved it.

The subject matter of this short film did not excite me at all before I saw the film. There seem to be a lot of independent films with plots involving either zombies or assassins--this one was an assassin film. In general, I'd recommend that young film makers pick different subjects, as these plot ideas are becoming a bit clichéd and all seem to merge together. However, JE SUIS managed to catch me by surprise--something that I really like when it happens.
The first thing I noticed about the film is that it was made in the United States yet the narration and title are in French. I'd really like to know why this decision was made, but it did work just fine. The second thing is that unlike other assassin films, this lady had a lot of style and she really seemed to enjoy her work...a lot! However, her meeting and falling for one of her targets even with such a cold heart, that's what makes this film memorable.
The story manages to be fresh and the film is technically very well made. If you are getting tired of assassin films, try one more---you'll be glad you did.
