DET Joel Humphrey
dmooretgs17 July 2021
Just when you think you have already heard all the stories of incompetent cops then up pops DET Joel Humphrey literally laughing while he lies about his and his colleagues cover up.

That guy needs a slap although I do wonder if he sat there with his head in his hands watching this documentary with face paint and clown boots on.

One of the best documentaries This will certainly open your eyes to policing in the 70s and 80s and the judicial system.

Opened my eyes that I thought were already opened.

Must watch.

The rage will build

Warning: Spoilers
Two completely innocent men are imprisoned while the "police" reward the murderers with a new life. I could never believe I would write such a sentence.

I have to try and put myself in the crooked cops, prosecutors and judges head to understand it.

Would personal gain be enough to allow you to go to the extreme of destroying others lives?

I just cannot get my head around it.

Thank god for the documentary makers for shining a light on a system that is so dangerous to the good in society.

Absolutely Gross Miscarriages Warning: Spoilers
These former cops, judges and prosecutors are what give the innumerable great ones a horrible name.

This judge seems to go out of his way to make himself look even more incompetent than I ever thought possible- even though Borrelli was found nothing guilty, he has the audacity to feign righteous indignation that Davis would even consider talking with him, much less remain friends.

The scum of the earth, Cantwell (the name sure fits) is of course absent from all filming, but still finds ways to insert himself at almost every turn- even going so far as to continue communication with D' Prero, and 'warning' the film makers bot to contact him.

Then we have a completely inept moron in the retired prosecutor (I believe?) who seems rather intent to excuse the decision to offer protection to an outright stain on the human race in favor of jailing two completely innocent men-especially given the effort put into tracking down D' Prero, and finding out what an actual trash human he truly is and the demon spawn he released into the world. Stating something insane along the lines of 'well, he likely does the same thing anyway with sentencing guidelines!' (while seemingly laughing with glee) and you get a picture of how deep this corruption runs.

What a remarkable story that deserves to be told over and over, until the right people finally do the right thing and exonerate Mr. Davis.

My sincerest sympathies to his family-I found myself grieving his loss, despite never having known him- knowing he died without being recognized properly as an innocent man.

A well done but incredibly frustrating series, I'd strongly recommend this to anyone wanting a good crime doc to engross then.

EXTRAORDINARY TALE OF INCOMPETENCE AND OR CORRUPTION IN THE COLORADO JUSTICE SYSTEM
alanl06-662-7702012 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
If this documentary detailing either total incompetence at best or widespread corruption in the Colorado justice system had been made into a movie , critics would have panned it for being so far fetched and the continued injustice not possible . One of the most compelling and ultimately unresolved miscarriages of justice which probably because it features 2 police officers wrongly convicted on fabricated evidence of an admitted pathological liar who was coached by other officers to implicate one officer who eventually won a slam dunk appeal ( after 4 or 5 years incarceration ) and another who to this day carrys a conviction for conspiracy to murder due to HIS appeal against the same miscarriage of justice being denied by a " Judge " with selective memory loss and more than a hint of metal disability who appears to delight in what he did . The fact that one of the police officers is black lends creedence to theories of racial inequality . The Colorado Major Crimes Strike Force was abandoned due to " improprioties " but no legal.action taken . What makes this worse is that the main offenders continued and perhaps CONTINUE in the job and some in elevated positions . Sure the INNOCENCE PROJECT could look into this . Our POLICE OFFICERS DESERVE JUSTICE JUST AS MUCH AS ANYBODY ELSE NOT JUST BEING HELD TO ACCOUNT IN HIGH PROFILE CASES WHICH ARE SPLASHED ALL OVER THE MEDIA.
