A really long but comprehensive documentary
bkeith-19 December 2020
The documentary shows the stem-cell treatments given to 7 US patients, tracking their history, treatments and recovery. The movie was well filmed, with plenty of intimate, close-up interviews and slice of life scenes showing family support and struggles. The opening sequence shows the miraculous recovery of a young man, paralyzed from the neck down, now able to use his limbs again. Insightful interviews with top doctors and researchers explain how stem-cell treatments came about and offer new hope to patients. At 2 hours and 20 minutes, the movie could have used more judicious editing.
