Not Beck
crumpytv22 July 2021
This is not the Beck of previous years.

Peter Haber (Beck) is hardly in it and his considered and patient approach to policing is sadly missing.

Although the characters are good, we have seen their attitudes all before and the main storyline, albeit with a twist, is getting well worn and was distasteful.

The blatant tokenism at the end in the bar was ridiculous. It seems diversity boxes have to be met even if they have no place in the story.

Lousy film - waste of time

Acting 2/10, story 3/10, crime factor 1/10 Policemen in Beck films are possibly even more incompetent than the "real" Swedish police - says it all.

This is a complete dissaster. People who say this is a good movie must have personal stake in it. This is terrible really terrible. It gets 3 stars because of the acting, the reduction in grade is thanks to terrible writing. Skip this one.

Beck: The Fall Guy
Tweekums6 July 2021
This episode starts with Oskar and new team member Josef intervening when a man argues about having his illegally parked car towed away. Oskar accompanies the man to his flat while Josef examines the car; he make a macabre discovery in the boot; a murdered baby. In the man's flat Oskar finds himself in a dangerous situation; Josef later intervenes and the man ends up dead. The team have to find out what happened to the baby and who her parents were. Meanwhile it seems something may be wrong with Beck.

I really enjoyed this episode. Its themes may have been fairly dark but for me that made me care more about the characters. There was frequently a real sense of danger and the ending included twists I didn't see coming but didn't feel forced for the sake of giving a final twist. The cast, both regular and guests do a fine job bringing their characters to life. The side story concerning Beck's health didn't distract from the main story and provided a good cliff-hanger ending. Overall I'd certainly say this isn't an episode to skip; it had me gripped from start to finish.

Captivating

This is I think the best episode I've ever seen and I've watched the entire series. Filled with twists and turns and a cliffhanger. Longtime series members make cameo appearances. Martin acts as senior guiding leader not in the field. Beck and insightful neckbraced neighbor discuss Schumann. I wish Lina would check in for a visit to spice up Martin.
