At this point, loyal Floribama Shore viewers have learned that if a night out doesn’t end in an altercation of some sort, it’s a sign of the apocalypse.

Candace’s club pal Matthew is standing by as she shouts, “What’s up?” and “Where ya at?” to a trio of guys being held back at security. Ginger Zee is getting candid about the struggles she's been through.
The 36-year-old ABC News chief meteorologist sat down with her Good Morning America colleague Robin Roberts on Tuesday to talk about her new memoir, Natural Disaster: I Cover Them, I Am One, which goes into detail about her battle with depression and how in 2011 she checked herself into a mental hospital to seek treatment.
"I fought a disease called depression that a lot of people fight every, single day," Zee explained. "And just like any disease there is a stigma or, unlike other diseases, there is a stigma surrounding it. And I want to help the hundreds of thousands or millions that are dealing with or dealt with something I did. And I want them to be able to fight without shame."
Roberts praised Zee for not holding back and even admitting that she thought about taking her own life.

Amy Sedaris is a comedy legend thanks, in part, to Jerri Blank. When Sedaris was in her mid-30s, she originated the “Strangers With Candy” role, playing a 46-year-old high school freshman who looked like she was pushing 60. She was “a boozer, a user, and a loser,” and it showed.
Now, Jerri still shows herself in ways good and not so good.
“[Today people] recognize you from Jerri, which means I’m starting to look like Jerri Blank,” Sedaris said in an interview with IndieWire. “So [that] just makes you feel old.”
But with fake age comes real experience. Though her most famous character barely starts to tell the story of an acclaimed sketch performer, playwright, advice columnist, and author, the series and its effect on modern comedy is undeniable.

Actress and comedian Amy Sedaris is no stranger to crafts, entertaining and homemaking, as she’s demonstrated with her two books, I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence and Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People. Plus, we can never forget her one-time cheese balls and cupcakes catering business, Dusty Food Cupcakes. Now, the former Strangers With Candy star is showcasing her diverse but necessary homemaking skills on the new truTV series, At Home With Amy Sedaris, co-created by her and Paul Dinello.
On the 10-episode comedy, her quirky tidbits are bought to life in lessons on creating Popsicle stick buddies, with kids dipping their glue-covered figurines into bags of hair, and how to gut a fish. And there will be plenty of celebrity guests, from Jane Krakowski and Stephen Colbert, to get a firsthand demonstration.
While there’s an earnest humor written into each segment, everything is ultimately derived from her years of crafting and entertaining. “It’s something...

The chameleon actress and writer, best known for Strangers With Candy, the Comedy Central series she starred in and co-created, BoJack Horseman, and guest roles on shows like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Broad City, is returning to TV with her own show, At Home With Amy Sedaris. It's a delightfully wacky lifestyle truTV series where she makes things like potato ships and does Angela Lansbury's morning movement routine. Why? Why not! Sedaris' Instagram feed, where she admittedly posts a lot, is full of kitschy crafts and things about her pet rabbit. It's a good indication of the type of crafts and kookiness you'll find on At Home With Amy Sedaris, right down...

An often serenely meditative exploration of sociopolitical life in contemporary Hong Kong, Christopher Doyle’s Hong Kong Trilogy is a stunningly-photographed blend of documentary and fictional narrative, following real locals playing themselves. We can’t tell where real life ends and fiction begins, and ultimately, we don’t care. The film marks Doyle’s first directorial effort, crowdfunded via a Kickstarter campaign in 2014. Doyle, the self-proclaimed Keith Richards of cinematographers, is one of the most beloved and provocative DPs in the world, endowed with an exquisite eye for composition. His new film, however, meanders around for a merciful 85 minutes before fading to black, never fusing together into anything impacting, beyond a fleetingly casual interest in the characters. Other than that, we’re left with just a handful of dazzling visuals to recall, and little more.
The film is divided across three chapters. The first, titled Preschooled, follows the students of a local private school,...

Dear Danny and Kelley,What a joy this time of the year to reconnect with old cinephile friends, and to meet new ones. The film festival I’ve been to more times than any other, Tiff seems to grow more personally important with each new visit—as a locus of discovery, an escape from the routine, a sanctuary and a labyrinth, exhausting and intoxicating. Could even a vérité master like Frederick Wiseman capture all its contradictions? The cinema and people I encounter during my ten days here comprise a refuge, a reminder of sublime possibilities in the midst of brutish realities. Art keeps the beast at bay, or so they say. Indeed, the very first film I saw, Alain Gomis’ Félicité, opens with just such a clash. In a roisterous Congolese bar, various squabbles hush up as a woman steps up to the microphone for a fierce, gorgeous song. As...

Watch your back, Hulu. IndieWire surveyed 15 network toppers this summer on a range of questions, including the show they’d most like to steal from a rival. The top show they coveted was easily Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” the timely story of a totalitarian dystopia that is on track to potentially win the Outstanding Drama Series Emmy this month.
Execs also raved about a variety of other recent series, including the HBO documentary “The Defiant Ones,” about the relationship between billionaire music moguls Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre. And the network honchos were given a chance to single out an upcoming (or recently aired) show that they believe is destined to become a surprise hit. As the industry prepares for another fall season, here’s some insight into what TV’s top executives are thinking, and what’s concerning them most.

It’s a cliche that creators resent their fans who like best the “early funny ones,” but I have to be that guy for just a second. Rick Geary has had a wonderful career: he has a quirky but devastatingly precise line and has made several dozen excellent graphic novels about historical murders over the last couple of decades. (Plus a number of other things.)
But he started out even quirkier, and I might like that ultra-quirky Geary even better than the meticulous, methodical, organized chronicler of mayhem. For about the first decade of Geary’s career — say, the period covered by Rick Geary Early Stories: 1977-1988 — a Geary comics page was as likely to be a collection of lovingly-detailed kitchen appliances as anything else. Or a carefully-drawn collection of vignettes from oddly-named motels from around the country. Or a series of unexplained and possibly supernatural events, narrated dryly and matter-of-factly,...

While the fall season has changed a great deal in the streaming age, the months of September through December do feature a flood of both new and returning series across every platform.
Below is our guide to fall premiere dates, which will be updated with reviews and more information as the season progresses. Happy fall TV!
Tuesday, September 5
“American Horror Story: Cult” (FX, 10 p.m.). From our review:
It’s not hard to see how Ryan Murphy arrived at his premise for “Ahs” Season 7. To say that many Americans have been living out their own personal horror story isn’t an overstatement — not with border closings, hate speech, and potential treason all enabled by the White House — but the new season manages to undermine the left’s legitimate fears and amplify the right’s monstrous traits all in one frenzied mess of an allegory.

Well stick a frozen spear in me and call me a zombie dragon… because that’s pretty much exactly what Game of Thrones does in this week’s episode.
The hour finds Jon and his band of severely cold brothers wildly outnumbered north of The Wall, as multitudes of the Night King’s forces descend upon the raggedy band of fighters. And when Daenerys and her pretties ride to their rescue, the Night King hoists a magical icy projectile of horror and sends it into Viserion’s...

Tribeca Enterprises announced on Wednesday that to supplement its acclaimed annual film festival, this fall it would launch the Tribeca TV Festival, to run Sept. 22 through 24 at Cinepolis in New York City and feature numerous premieres and panel Q&As.
”Ten years ago we wouldn’t have needed a TV festival. Now, with the change in the TV landscape, both the quality and quantity of shows, it makes sense,” Tribeca co-founder Robert De Niro said in a statement. “As the Tribeca Film Festival has done, the Tribeca TV Festival will act as a curator in bringing people together for this emerging experience.

As of late, every major fest has included some degree of television in its programming. But Tribeca is demonstrating a new level of commitment to episodic content with Tribeca TV, an entire festival dedicated to the small screen (to use an increasingly antiquated term).
Running September 22-24 in New York, Tribeca TV will feature the world premieres of the upcoming new series “At Home with Amy Sedaris,” as well as “Designated Survivor” Season 2 and “Red Oaks” Season 3. Also getting special previews are Season 2 of the Emmy-nominated “Better Things,” the fourth season of “Gotham,” the upcoming Sundance TV miniseries “Liar,” and NBC’s revival of classic sitcom “Will & Grace.”

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question: Which lesser known network or streaming service deserves more love? Why?
Damian Holbrook (@damianholbrook), TV Guide Magazine
I just wrote about this for TVInsider.com! Recently, I am obsessed with truTV, which has unleashed two of my favorite summer programs: “The Chris Gethard Show” and Andrea Savage’s perfect “I’m Sorry.” The first is the “Pee Wee’s Playhouse” of live late-night talk shows featuring the supremely likable comedian and the second, sort of a “Curb Your Enthusiasm” for suburban marrieds, Finally gives Savage a chance to carry a show after years of scene-stealing support. Originally designed as a true-crime network, the rebranding to comedy (and edgy comedy at that!
