When I watched this Season 2 episode of The Smurfs, I thought it was a cute but sad episode about valuing the passage of life. As I say, I do not mind lesson-giving episodes.
The story goes like this: Smurfette was picking flowers when she heard squeaking from a bush; it was a sick little mouse. So Smurfette took the mouse home and nursed it back to health-with the help of Papa Smurf's herbal broth. And of course, Smurfette took a shine to the mouse, named it "Squeaky," and adopted him as a pet. It was nice to have a pet for a week, but a week later (I think), Smurfette found Squeaky dead. Distressed, Smurfette vows to never love anything again! And ran away from the village. The other Smurfs set out to look for Smurfette; of course Tracker Smurf found her trail that leads to "The Mountain of Mist." Will they be able to reach Smurfette? Watch this episode and see.
Overall, I love this episode, and the scene with Smurfette, Sloppy, and the rotten Smurfberry is humorous.
