Love - but Atlanta?

I love this episode I thought it was such a great surreal thing to throw into the series. I do have to mention, it really reminds me of the episode from Atlanta, anyone who has ever watched will remember the Ostrich egg ep.

unexpected and odd

I'll give this show credit for refusing to do the expected thing. They visit a wealthy Middle Eastern bigwig in the hopes of repairing the damage Ramy did with the whole Dennis debacle. The guy doesn't hate dogs, he isn't a creep or at least not an obvious creep, and he didn't even make his money in oil.

The archery test was handled very strangely. Unexpectedly, Ramy aces the practice shot (beginner's luck?) and expectedly, he chokes on the "real" test but it turns out that wasn't the real test after all and the whole thing is swept under the rug.

Too bad, I was looking forward to the next episode, where Ramy has to climb over the estate's walls and evade the scary security guys in order to get Dennis' dog back.

And then there's a subplot with Zainab being interested in marrying Ramy. Since when? Didn't she notice how he's a lying weasel and caused chaos because of his immaturity? But it's all okay because he's nice to a dog? Bizarre characterization. Maybe Zainab is up to something.
