Is an undercover cop involved in the murder of a young drug dealer?
Tweekums5 July 2021
This episode opens with a young drug dealer having run-ins with various characters; the next day his body is discovered, he had been stabbed to death. Beck's team are on the case and quickly link the victim to a small shop; here they make an arrest of a man who tried to flee and is carrying a pistol and drugs. Once he is in the car he demands to be released... he is an undercover policeman, named Josef Eriksson.

I thought this was a decent enough episode; even though Beck's role in the series that bears his name seems to be diminishing. The central mystery had a good number of twists with suspicions about Eriksson remaining for much of the episode. Some humour is provided when colleagues encourage Steinar to sign up to dating app Tinder. The cast does a solid job throughout. This might not be the best episode but I thought it got the latest season off to a solid start.

Disappointing
crumpytv19 July 2021
After a good standard of dialogue in the previous 6 series there was a serious dip in this one with needless profanities throughout.

They don't make the plot any more real, they just jar, especially when repeated in succession.

Beck has a good cast of likeable characters, but the dialogue needs some work.

Worst Beck movie ever
basket_sebbe1 January 2021
Beck has provided me with many wonderful moments in front of the TV. "Undercover" will not belong to one of those. It's a very disappointing movie. Terrible lines makes me wonder who wrote the manuscript. It could be terrible actors as well, but anyhow the dialogue feels very staged and unnatural.

The plot is quite interesting, but the tempo is not very adequate and there's also some missing pieces in the shape of long shots way to far fetched from reality.

This movie is by far the worst Beck movie ever written. I truly believe it's time to either stop or try way harder than this.

This is unfortunately a waste of ide!

A real Beck gem!

After so many films, 38, to be exact, maybe you couldn't expect it to be vital- but this film is. Its not what you expect of a Beck-film, cause its more of a chrime-story- dealing quite a lot with the criminals- than actually police investigation a murder and that makes it fresh. Its a real treat to see Martin Wallström as an undercover-cop and I do hope he will take a big part in the films that follows. Yes, its a small step in a new direction but people who love Beck will recoqnize the reality, the want to deal with problems of today, and also the warmth between the characters.
