BRAINNYYYYYYYY!!!
mschauer-2967230 March 2021
I love brainy so much and he is definitely the best things that happened to this show besides Lex Luthor. Both actors are so enjoyable to watch. Season 6 is off to a good start so far.

As always....

Warning: Spoilers
It was not bad, don't get me wrong, but after Superman & Lois, this is downgrade for Wednesday entertainment.... too much pep talk, CGI is sometimes like from PS2 game, and dialogs are written badly, but not all of them. I expected that Lex will be invincible for first half of episodes, but suddenly, he did not see that coming? Maybe it is for the best that Supergirl's journey is coming to an end. Overall, it was not that bad, but giving the score here, I expected something more.

Great Episode

Great way to start off the season. The scenes between Kara and the superfriends were amazing and bittersweet knowing what Kara was planning. The interactions between Kara and Lena were so wonderful to see. What a great relationship those two have.

Supercorp Dansen and Brainia
jordanch6831 March 2021
Excellent episode lots of Supercorp, Brainia and Dansen. This probably should have been the start of S5 instead of S6.

Slowburn?

I'm sorry but I'm starting to believe that Lena may be Kara's soulmate, this episode really just showed me how those two make more sense than Kara and that other reporter.

Great episode!

A strong final premiere!
munrogmclaren31 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I knew Kara was going to the Phantom Zone. It just made sense. I feel like she's going to be a traumatized when she gets back. Can she go to therapy?? She needs it.

I love that Lena used myriad to erase Lex and Lillian's minds. And she told Alex and J'onn about it. She's all about trusting now.

The Lena and Brainy moments were amazing. They are so similar and I love their scenes.

Kara telling Lena that she's the only person in the galaxy she trusts to do right with Myriad was amazing. It really shows that Kara and Lena are building back that trust.

How exactly did Lena's Krypto-Suit shatter?? It's fabric. Lol.

I wonder if M'gann will masquerade as Supergirl's for a bit just so the citizens of National City dont question where their resident hero is.

I love Alex's vigilante name. But really, she needs a mask. That make up ain't it.

I really hope Brainy and Nia turn out okay.

Lena telling Alex that Kelly is her person when talking about secret identities....interesting choice of words.

Of course Lena had a back up plan! She even upgraded the drone thingy and added a yellow sunlight for Kara!

All in all, this was a solid episode. Definitely a 10/10. A very strong premiere. If this had been the finale and it had aired as it should have, I would definitely not have been able to wait this long for answers. Lol.

The Season 5 Final We've Waited Almost A Year For
This was a very good episode to start the season. But after watching the episode, it felt more like the season 5 final we never had. It would not surprise me if this is how season 5 was going to end, or something like it. But it doesn't matter if it's the end of season 5 or the start of season 6, this was a great episode. I can't wait to see what they have planned for this final season.

Superman and Lois was put on Hiatus for THIS??

Warning: Spoilers
This was somehow worse than Flash's premiere this season. Even in Supergirl's best season, my thoughts on the episodes overall vary wildly! If there's one thing we can all agree on with this episode though, it's that Lex deserved better than this!

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Jon Cryer as Lex, but even in this show he's never been so overconfident before. He doesn't act like this! Lex, especially this version of Lex is a methodical planner that's prone to violent outbursts. Even in "The Quest For Peace", which was a terrible episode, Lex still acted like he was supposed to be acting. Now though, it's almost like he's a completely different character, and it all appeared to happen off screen. This is Lex Luthor! How do you manage to screw things up this bad!

And then there's this ancient Martian ritual that will allow J'onn and M'gann to connect their minds to technology and destroy them simultaneously, which is stupid. Although, there's a conversation between J'onn and Alex that's very interesting. J'onn is afraid of doing the ritual because M'gann will see all of his darkest secrets. Not only is this not mentioned again for the rest of the episode, but it was actually J'onn suggesting that him and M'gann share the same type of bond in season 2. Why does he suddenly not want them to share that kind of bond? Who knows? It's never explained! All we know for sure is that he suddenly doesn't want to anymore, and that it happened off screen.

Then there's the stuff with Lena, whose character was butchered beyond belief last season, and I genuinely don't think she's worth saving anymore because of it. Kara's really letting Lena back into her life after she...

1. Made and Used Kryptonite on her (which I guess only works when it's convenient for the writers now, since Kara's been shown to be immune to the effects of Kryptonite in season 4's "Red Dawn")

2. Sold the company Kara works for for less than she bought it for out of nothing but spite (as confirmed by the season 5 premiere)

3. Burned and manipulated her in such a way that makes Kara want to completely start fresh, as talking about their past is just too painful (as shown in the season 5 finale, but I guess they got on good terms again off screen)

4. Murdered her own brother (it doesn't matter that her brother is Lex Luthor, as murder is still murder)

and 5. Attempted to mind control everyone on earth (albeit for non-nefarious purposes, but mind control is still mind control)

The writers really tried to make Lena the new Slade, but we all knew Slade was an irredeemable villain. The writers are trying to bend over backwards to redeem Lena, but I'm just not buying into it. Lena's like Phin in Spider-Man Miles Morales. Hundreds of thousands of counts of attempted murder is still attempted murder, even if it means defaming the guy that killed your brother. Lena, like Phin, is irredeemable. I'm sorry, writers. I just can't forgive her, especially since she uses Myriad AGAIN at the end of the episode. Was it for a good cause in protecting Kara and the team's identities? Yes. Is it still mind control? Also yes.

Okay, my rant about Lena is over. Let's talk about something I liked about the episode. Kara being sent to the Phantom Zone. Now, I have no doubt this won't last more than an episode, but the moment in itself was nice! I, for one, am hyped to see where the writers take this. I've never seen the Phantom Zone explored before, so there's a lot of different ways they could take this, and it could be really great!

There's also the stuff with Nia and Brainy, but I couldn't really care less about all that. Nia's character was butchered beyond all recognition last season, and Brainy really needs to get a new plotline anyway. In season 4, I was really excited for these two to get together, but at this point I'm so over their "will they, won't they".

That's really all I have to say about this episode. Between Lena being treated like she did nothing wrong, J'onn not acting like himself, and the writers hamming up Lex beyond belief, I think this episode could've used some MASSIVE improvements. Take a page out of Superman and Lois's book and make sure your characters are acting like themselves before going into the more fantastical plot elements. This one definitely could've used a bit more time in the oven.

3 / 10.

"Don't you just love comparing Kara and Lena's relationship to other canon couples with zero intention of making Supercorp Endgame?"
  • The supergirl writers, probably.

I didn't expect much but it's a great start. I hope they will maintain this good until the end. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm rooting for ya CW to give justice on Kara's character for the final season.

SC ENDGAME.

Great start/end to the season.
ldamena31 March 2021
I'm wowed! The level of emotion this episode took me for a ride. Kara showed the hero she is and that immense heart she has what she's willing to do for the earth and to protect those she loves. I just want her happy at the end of this. I think this season is the season for Lena to shine more than she ever has before, love her character development this ep. I'm not a Kara and Lena shipper but I do enjoy their friendship and it shone in the premiere. Lex was infuriating just as he should be, can't wait til he's gone + John Cryer is a great Lex Luthor. I love Nia and Brainy... my emotions during their scenes- my heart skipped a beat. And my tears during the Danvers sisters moments, they are the best siblings in the Arrowverse bar none. I've missed this show glad it's back but so sad it's all coming to an end soon.

There is nothing I love more than the supercorp moments on this show. They're effortless and always seem to create the largest reaction in the Audience. There really is something special between these women that I hope they explore this season, since it is the last. Please don't let your fans down. 💗 thank you for an amazing first episode!

SUPERCORP ENDGAME!
cmndrlex31 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
THIS EPISODE WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN I COULDVE EVER HOPED AFTER THE STRAIN OF LAST SEASON! Lena's moment with Kara were so weighted and wonderful, you can truly feel her remorse and how she intends to work hard to earn Kara's trust again. Kara assuring her she trusts her despite everything?! That moment where Lena emotionally pleads with Kara not to go on a suicide mission felt so heavy with intent, a love confession & farewell kiss would not have been out of place!

Kara coming into a whole new level of her confidence was so much! And her farewells hurt so much! I'm glad Lena encouraged Alex to talk about all this with Kelly because she knew how hard it was to deal with this alone!

Brainy giving Nia her ring gives me hope that we'll get our big three endgames: Supercorp, Dansen, Brainia happy together in the end!

Cannot wait to see what the rest of this season has in store for us!

Oh, and the William thing felt wholly out of place and as much of an after thought as he was for me to remember adding him. Seriously? Why would a woman he went on ONE lackluster date on take the time to tell him she's going? Get a life dude.

"We will get her back. Until then, together... We will keep this city safe."
RobinKarlsson2231 March 2021
What an outstanding season premiere for a final season. Season 6 starting off strong!

The directing, visuals, camerawork and editing was altogether so wonderful. Astounding color palette, being everything from their costumes to background to the visual effects. The location and the set design was so well thought and locked beautiful at the same time deliver a exciting atmosphere. Costume design alone wasn't that impressive but within the background and the substance of the context, it did evoke the final result.

Melissa owns the part and (as always) nailed it. Asides from her i thought that Jesse, Nicole and Katie really shined. Jesse and Katie's voice acting was noteworthy, while Nicole's body acting was splendid. Every actor bringed out a intense presence that worked well within their scene. A honorable mention for Azie and Julie. Although they hadn't that much to play with they unleashed a great presence and appearance.

Enjoyed the pacing around Lex and liked every interaction between Jon and Melissa.

For post productions, the soundtrack was entrancing and wouldn't mind maintain it.

Great atmosphere all over the episode and among the best SG episodes. Although the visuals effects wasn't at their best, it's easy to look past it. Definitely a 10/10 episode!

good begining for me
heme-210351 April 2021
I love to see every relationship on the show goes well, without unnecessary conflicts. Although there was still a bit of naivety in the plot, I thought it was generally good because there was plenty of chemistry between each of the actors. Especially between Kara and Lena, the two of them really fit each other. I love Melissa and Katie's performance. They're the best. Also,Looking forward to Kara without the bangs.

When this show focuses on their core characters you could see how the whole dynamic changes and everything is better. Loved how Lena integrated with the Superfriends and I loved all her scenes with Kara.
