The story is great, in some parts it's a bit slow. It has what you could expect from a 3D donghua, the main character is good and would even become better in the second season, some events in it may seem random but not much so the story seems connected, using 3D drawing also make it look way better than standard donghua, battles, 3D and story are all good.

The show introduced me to dongua

I randomly clicked a video for this on YouTube and was hooked. With that final fantasy 7 animation and great story as well as many episodes. This opened a whole world of anime that I had no idea existed . I live in the US and the word Dongua (Chinese animation) was alien to me and I been a anime fan since the 90s. These is a whole bunch of "dongua " that I get to indulge in and it's all thanks to this gem of a show . There is also a real life show with the same name and sort of same story but..... I prefer the anime. I hear it was adapted from a novel of the same name. I only pray in the future they can get English voice actors to translate . Subtitles are more than adequate though. I recommend to any anime fans.
Amazing anime, really loved watching it. Deserves many seasons.

It's a great anime as you had assumed through rating. This anime is really interesting. I didn't got bored in a single episode. I would totally recommend watching it if you haven't. I have watched it, am waiting for the next season.
