Standard Quality Blue Bloods

Warning: Spoilers
Good episode. Nicky Reagan-Boyle is noticeably missing. Even if it's just appearing in a dinner scene. I miss her already. Another member missing from those signature scenes. The Danny-Henry Reagan chapter is probably the weakest part of this episode. Mainly when the father takes his son away to a New York Rangers game without telling the mother. Danny accepts it since Henry is the man's social worker. In any Child custody case this would be totally unacceptable. You just don't take a child away when you are already flirting with a troubled parolee life. I realize it's just a TV show but I hold Blue Bloods to a higher standard. Jaime's chapter of the show is the strongest as another reviewer mentioned. Eddie Janko Reagan is faced with getting caught up in a dirty collar by her partner. Jaime handles the matter in the Reagan way. The Erin Reagan chapter of her "possibly running for DA" is also interesting and should carry on to future episodes. The ending of her talking with the "Mayor Elect" kind of tips us off. The NYPD vs The FDNY plot is kind of running on fumes and a retread but they still pull it off. This show remains strong in a time when many Drama's are "jumping the shark" and ending up on the cancellation list.

The Finest vs. the Bravest
bkoganbing16 November 2019
This Blue Bloods story has Tom Selleck having to use a bit of diplomacy to end a feud developing between the police and fire departments. Fire Commissioner Dan Lauria almost gets busted during a rowdy party neighbors complained about.

Bridget Moynahan meets with Mayor-elect Dylan Walsh and he wants her to run"for District Attorney. That could present some serious office issues. The Reagan dinner gets this idea batted around a bit.

Donnie Wahlberg and Len Cariou are on opposite sides of a domestic dispute as Cariou does some part time mediation work with the Department of Social Services.

And Will Estes makes a call that could jeopardize Vanessa Ray's career. He also finds a solution that has the least harmful affect for all involved.

The Estes portion of the episode is the strongest.

Terrible custody resolution

Warning: Spoilers
Very disappointed with the way the custody issue was handled. Hints of misogyny, blowing off the understandably upset wife when her recently-released-from-jail husband just takes the kid from school. Totally inconsistent with Henry and Danny's characters. Excusing criminal behavior by a parolee with lame excuses - "he's not a bad guy" - trivializes this sort of situation. That is NOT how you work out custody issues. Plus I just don't buy that either character would act that way. Dump the doppelgängers and bring back the characters we know and love.

Garbage episode

Warning: Spoilers
Lazy writers running out of ideas: corrupt patrol officer plants drugs. NYPD v. FDNY.

Then a patrol officer wearing sergeant stripes on ONE arm. A PATROL officer.

Unbelievably stupid.

An episode written by a newbie?

Didn't get the impression this story was put together by anyone who was even slightly familiar with this series. Always bothered by multiple story lines that have little development. The fire department nonsense again? Danny whose voice always sounds like a Bronx lowlife not an Irish cop from a nice neighborhood who ALWAYS launches into hollering without listening first. Ramirez who needs lessons in hair, ,makeup and diction. Frank having a circular conversation with the fire chief about an issue that should be discussed simply, clearly and point blank because it just isn't hard to understand and shouldn't require multiple ongoing conversations. This series is getting stupid.
