Volunteering for child services as an investigative consultant, Henry joins Danny working the threats to Karen, whose estranged ex-junk husband (with petty record) Warren Davis acts paranoid over her taking their son Andrew to California in the divorce. Henry now gives Warren the benefit of the doubt, Danny is concerned over his angry visits to his wife, even provoking one. Karen fears he may have abducted Andrew, but he has only taken him to a hockey game. Eddie's patrol partner veteran cop Kenneth Troy collars a man who carries drugs and a gun that matches the description of a weapon used in a recent double homicide. Jamie is suspicious that Troy may have planted a vial so he could search the perp's vehicle, leading to another argument with Eddie.
