May be based on current politics but shows a flaw
michaelcmx19 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I get that most all of Wolf's shows and plots are politically and current event motivated. This episode is no different. I won't lie sometime I roll my eyes at the "message" sent. However, I have read other reviews of this episode and it makes me sad. Yes I agree violent people, immigrant or not need no solace. But this episode in my opinion, shows that blanket laws and blanket politics are the flaw. In this episode a you woman who was raised in a violent gang culture sought a way out. She first turned to her teacher who was murdered for his effort. Then when the FBI approached her she quickly agreed to turn the people in who were responsible in. Not just that, she agreed to put herself in danger to do so. Then was deported and sent to her most likely death. This shows me that the laws need to be incident based. She did commit murder in her time, but she did so under a life threatening duress. Can anyone say how they would react? If you say yes without having been there, you fool yourself. While I do agree violent immigrants should not be allowed citizen status, or protections. I do feel that this immigrant based and founded country should take it all on a case by case basis. And in the extremely rare case that something like this happens, help should be extended. This episode touched me.

Good Episode

Good content. Realistic, and gripping. It basically shows how the law system in America is broken. Many innocents suffer due to this. I did not like the ending, but this is what is happening right now and it's very sad. Good acting by Missy; she has been my favorite since Life as we know it!.

Ended exactly the way it should have....

Warning: Spoilers
Thank goodness this ended the way it did! We do NOT need to be giving criminals/gang members/murderers asylum to stay in our country! ICE did the right thing - these are the people we want out!!

For all the bellowing and grandstanding of Agent Bell (Missy Peregryn) that this gang member was such a good person, and this is the kind of person we want here - No, she isn't, she is a murderer! The judge made the right call. This is not the kind of immigrant we want here in our country.

Great episode

A really well done episode. The plot moved along at a nice pace and the actress playing "Jessica" did a very convincing job playing a high school student even though she looked a little old for the part.

stupid is as stupid does

If the judge says her hands are tied and the rule is clear, then why did she grant her a damn hearing in the first place? Hired murderers are offered reduced sentences all the time simply for snitching on who hired them, no undercover sting needed, no act of self defense. If someone is stupid enough to put their life in danger for a phony undocumented promise, then they deserve to be deported. FBI simply selling a poor immigrant down the river to get the perp for their own resume Same goes for the idiot teacher getting involved trying to shield her from the authorities, and where did that get them??

What's right and what's law are not always the same.

Warning: Spoilers
Spoilers:

Right wingers are all up in arms on here for highlighting the gray areas of life. The immigrant girl who is a minor..gets deported in spite of her aiding the fbi and turning over gang members. The judge and ice say they are just following orders of the current admin. And they are correct. But it doesn't make it right. Good dichotomy of morality vs the established law, represented in this episode. Sad stuff.

Only light of hope, is the cheetoh and his zealots are leaving office next month.

'Agenda'
JasonSterling2927 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The thing that bothers me the most is how everyone gets upset about 'agendas' on television. No one what's to see lesbians, gays or white terrorists.

This episode started out with a teacher getting battered with a baseball bat and it was a missing person case until a gang member name came into the picture and it turns out the teacher was trying to help a girl(who turned out to A killer) to escape gang life.

The part that had people talking was the end where the girl(gang memeber& student) who helps solve the crime was going to be deported because she couldn't seek asylum because of her violent past.

Now around to some, it's an Anti ICE episode but ICE got their way in the end and rightly so according to the LAW but I felt this episode was to appeal to people's humanity.

Here's is something to think about would you rather a Hispanic with a murder to her name to get asylum after helping the FBI to arrest 5 gang members or an Arab to get asylum but is actually a sleeper Jihad. Gang members have tattoos but Muslims don't.

Summa lex, summa iniuria! That triggers conservatives

In any civilised country, the interrest of the minor trumps the law. Even if she/he had committed murder, it is the duty of the government to do everything possible to ensure re-education and well being. The Question is: why the USA are veering toward becoming a medieval country.

Terrible Ending
mdobson-8072418 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The usual, gripping storyline and superb acting on expects from FBI (and Dick Wolfe), but the ending seemed far too manufactured.

Had this played out in real life, with all she did for the FBI investigation, combined with the arrest (and one would assume,) conviction of the gang members for the murder of the teacher, as well as the FBI literally standing up in court for her (and, let's not forget her age here, combined with known upbringing, etc.), this would have gone the other direction - Witness Protection.

We place hardened mafia killers in WP for far more heinous crimes (with less payout.) The writers here are making a statement.

And Immigration judges have a rather wide latitude in their judgements. No immigration judge is going to say "My hands are tied."

We all know there are HUGE problems in this country (what country doesn't have them?), but this girl would not have been thrown to the wolves (and certain death) by the court system.

If the court can be convinced (and it seems pretty clear cut here) that sending her back would sign her death warrant, she would have been spared.

The US loves to play the savior role.

The ending here is not believable in the slightest.

Yawn - again with the politics...
Just-A-Girl-1411 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Every time they add politics to an episode they just ruin it. It's just so tiring to watch. Instead of getting emotional I get bored and annoyed. Don't care where you are on the political map, just leave us out of it. If I want to see politics I watch the news. Also, I find it kinda stupid that the FBI promise protection or WITSEC without having the authority or proper documentations for it. It makes them look STUPID! I mean, it's the FBI... Shouldn't they check it before they risk people's lives?! The whole thing just felt off. ICE and the judge are bad, the FBI and the girl are good. How many times have we seen that already? It's boring!! Seriously though, this cannot be the first time the FBI asked a gang member to sell out the other gang members. Are we seriously supposed to believe it came as a surprise to them? ICE do not just fall from the sky. There's a system in place. The FBI should know the rules. Maggie's promises and speech wasn't moving because we've seen it a million times before. If you want to add a twist at the end, maybe try something new... We also didn't get any information as to how exactly the teacher tried to help her out? It's not exactly an easy thing. If he's just a teacher, what exactly were his plans and how did the gang hear about it? It would have been better if they stayed with the original storyline and left immigration issues out of it. Oh, and btw, why is a 32 y/o actress playing a high school girl? It's weird!

They casted a 32 y/o actress who looks 28 to play a HS student. Are there no HS girls in acting now?

At least know you are watching pure political propaganda
Jackbv12329 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was written and delivered with a very specific and unique set of circumstances intended to make most people who aren't already extremely in favor of deportations sympathize that true injustice had been done. The girl had indeed performed violent illegal acts. Despite the fact OA says he would have taken a bullet, I can't imagine that the percentage of people who would do that wouldn't be far less than 5%, especially at that age. These circumstances are incredibly unique for the general population and I tend to believe that are even still pretty unique among those caught in gang life. So many of them are brainwashed not to think like what we would call decent human beings.

So the story is manipulated to make those who support current administration policy, and the laws they enforce, look totally evil. After all, it is clear that the judge might as well have taken out a gun and shot the girl. In fact that would have been a mercy compared to the death she was indirectly sentenced to.

Personally, I am a little taken aback at the reviewers who declare with fervor that the judge made the right (as in righteous) decision. It is hard to comprehend what alternative the girl had when she was in the gang. And I repeat my believe that the percentage of people who would have sacrificed themselves (knowing the futility of it for the victim) is microscopically small. I could say more, but I don't want to respond to hate with additional negativity.

Don't misunderstand me. I am horrified by the stories and the frequency of murderers and rapists who are freely released rather than have ICE deport them only to have them murder and rape again. I don't understand how any government official could do that in any but the most unusual individual cases (of which this TV episode is a highly manufactured example of one of those unusual cases).

Some kind of episode, huh?
tarwaterthomas2 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I just got through watching this episode in which a teenaged Latina wears a wire to get the goods on a gang who murdered a high school teacher because he was helping her to get out of the gang life. She helps FBI agents Maggie Bell and OA, but what happens next just goes to show that no good deed goes unpunished as our heroine gets deported by order of a judge. Your emotions will be manipulated as you watch this episode. Mr. Dick Wolf, do us all a favor. Stop bleeding your heart all over everyone's TV. We don't want to have to clean up a bloody mess. This was not one of the better episodes. Thbbb.

Sympathy for the Devil
Johnny_West27 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
DT-15 is a gang that is supposed to stand in for the infamous MS-13. Apparently the writers at FBI were afraid to use the MS-13 gang name? Jessica is a teenager who has been a member since she was 13 years old. She says she wants out of the gang. She talks to her high school English teacher about it, and then the teacher is murdered.

In the process of finding the killers, the FBI get involved with Jessica and find out her story, which includes 4-5 years of criminal activity for the gang, and murder. Agent Bell (Missy Peregryn) immediately decides that Jessica "is the kind of person that the USA should be fighting to keep in this country."

Agent Bell also goes on the warpath to fight the ICE deportation orders for Jessica. Bell makes a lot of insanely liberal speeches against immigration laws and deportation. As the Immigration Judge says at one point "Our laws are intended to keep violent criminals out of the US." Amen! The U. S. A. Is supposed to be the melting pot not the toilet bowl.
