After a gap from viewing the Etheria film festival shorts on Shudder,I decided to quickly jump back into viewings before they all get removed from the streaming platform,leading to me taking a sip of this title.

Pouring out the subject of consent, the screenplay by Lauren Kurek Sweeney Cannon clearly uses the at first whimsical appearance of Lily conjuring up a latte for Brian, which keeps Brian and the audience not expecting the assault he experiences from drinking the coffee, touching on the lasting shock Lily has felt since the unexpected assault by Brian.
Casting a spell backed by Tangelene Bolton's jaunty score,director Yoko Okumura and cinematographer Bennett Cerf brew a darkly comedic kooky atmosphere, with the bright sunny colours of the household being counted by the sharp close-ups on Brian feeling Lily's abuse experience,from his cup of coffee.
