Not Worth The Watch
mguy201220 January 2024
After reading the other reviews for this film I feel like I watched a different movie. I must say that I was hopeful. The first fifteen minutes of the film got my interest. Fresh new faces and nerdy character reminiscent of the lead in Napoleon Dynamite. But that's when the decline began. Bad dialogue. Silly, unbelievable, plot twists. Bad acting. It's all there. So many things just seem tacked on, usually involving guns. The writer of the script seems torn between wanting it to be a comedy while at the same time a suspenseful crime thriller and in the end failing miserably at both. I would advise not to waste your time with this one. Like I said - while I appreciate the new faces the end result still falls flat.

A funny buddy adventure takes some high stakes turns
tommyhills-3735325 September 2023
Ray and Paul are bound to each other and to their quest during tumultuous life circumstances. What seems at first like a buddy road trip comedy rapidly ramps into a run for your life adventure. You'll laugh with them, feel sorry for them, and even get worried for their well being. Quicksand is an independent film that was shot and takes place in Michigan, but don't let that make you take this one for granted because its a movie worth seeing. Full disclosure, I am in the movie so I could be a little biased, but after seeing it in packed theaters I know I'm not alone in saying this is a fun movie to watch and worth your time to check it out.

The comedy you didn't know you needed
jenevanicolemorris3 October 2023
Fast-paced. Likable characters. Light-hearted. It's the comedy you didn't know you needed in your life.

Ray and Paul are two roommate friends, trying to navigate adulthood, while preparing for their friend's upcoming wedding, in which they are the best men. When they lose the ring, a harrowing and twist-filled adventure ensues to get the ring back and at times, stay alive.

You might think it's going to be predictable, but one of the most pleasantly surprising aspects is how you're continually surprised while along for an enjoyable ride. The genius of the movie is that it's able to pack the humor and thrill, all while maintaining an *almost* PG setting. No sex/nudity, and only very minor violence and language. It's filmed in Michigan, an independent film which makes it all the more admirable what the filmmakers were able to pull off.

Overall a fantastic film, one that can be enjoyed over and over again.
