The series starts off great, just two minor comments on the London bar scene - people still tend to keep to themselves a lot and unlikely you can easily flirt with such ease as the episode shows. London is an unfriendly city for anyone who lives there.
The second one would be a minor detail, we don't often keep medication in labelled bottles a la USA.

The wolf in sheep's clothing

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 1: Nothing fancy, thrilling, suspenseful in this one with just good acting, especially by Adele.
It lacks real emotions for now, too much scene with the son, too convenient, especially toward the end. Maybe, it would get better. Even if it does, would be all thanks to Adele.
Louise is the wolf in sheep's clothing.

A terrific start. Loved it.

On a random night out, single mum Louise has a chance meeting with a talk, dark, handsome stranger, the next day, she learns they are linked through work.
I'm staggered by how good this first episode was, I was expecting it to be good based on the feedback of some friends, I hadn't expected it to be this good, I loved it.
Adele and David's marriage is there most interesting aspect so far, what are the couple keeping hidden, what sort of marriage do they have? All sweetness and light? Or are they both hiding something.
Tom Bateman is impressive as the dishy Doctor, he has a huge presence on screen. He's intimidating, but smart with it. The whole cast are exceptional, Simona Brown, is sensational.
I loved it. 9/10.

There is enough in the first episode of Behind her Eyes to make you think something else is going on. That somewhere along the line the rug will be pulled.
Based on Sarah Pinborough's novel. Louise Barnsley (Simona Brown) is a single mom with her young son Adam. She works part time at a psychiatrist's office.
One evening she bumps into Dr David Ferguson (Tom Bateman) in a pub, where they talk and he kisses her. It is only the next day she finds out that he is the new psychiatrist working in the office.
Later she bumps into his wife Adele (Eve Hewson.)
That all sounds rather bland like a romantic thriller. There are hints of it all being a little off kilter and darker.
Louise has night terrors where she runs down corridors and finds her son in danger.
The Ferguson marriage looks loveless and unreal. Adele is on prescription medication and there are flashbacks of Adele meeting another man.
The first episode was scene setting. There is just a danger that like many Netflix shows, pacing is sacrificed for a longer episode count.

Warning: Spoilers
Por Trás de Seus Olhos (2021)
Series
1st Season
Episode One - Encontros ao Acaso
This is the twentieth series that I've watched on this profile of mine and I'm absolutely sure that it was the first that I didn't care for or like any of the characters involved, neither the child nor the mystery, I found it really horrible, the charisma of the characters actors went very far.
Did the woman really eat bread and beans?
I'm going to give it a 2 because if it improves in these next episodes I could still put it at an average of 6, or if it gets worse I could put it at an average of 1, if that's the case it will be my worst average I think, Inhumans has an average of 2.13, I think I found a very strong competitor.
Episode one of the first season of the Miniseries Por Tras de seu Olhos watched on May 14, 2024.
Rating: 2/10.
Previous Alias Grace.
