Laughed every few minutes plus...
drnikic30 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
God in socks and sandals.

God being passive-aggressive about Lucifer's work.

God giving Lucifer a noogie.

God frightening a naked Lucifer.

God reminding Lucifer he's seen all the orgies in the penthouse.

Tom Ellis singing (sigh)

And the last minute or so. Not so much with the laughing.

I don't rate it as high as Buffy, but it was still great.

Some people dont understand irony and sarcasm is the fore front of the episode
ha77y73ad973 June 2021
Can see this is one of the lowest rated episodes of the series but this is truly down to people not getting the reason for this episode. The whole idea of this is to ridicule all of the previous episodes of shows like Riverdale musical episodes. Lucifer even says "You just made me sing again. This has to stop!". This is to tell god to stop these kinds of episodes.

All of the songs/ singing and dancing was trash... apart from the Maze and Ella song! Not all people should or can sing and actors are no different but i have not laughed so hard during this episode. We still get Lucifer's standard sarky remarks a case to be cracked and the supporting team do what they do best.

I cant help but say that God was a perfect casting again for the series, his dad dancing at the end is also so prefect. If they try to do this again this wont work but as a one off this is just another evolution of the series. The Noir detective episode didnt hit home in the first half of the series but this works so perfectly in the dynamic of god controlling Lucifer's life and everyone on earth. With the revelation at the end this make for a great setup to the next episode.

Not a big fan of musicals
Funkaairo28 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Although it was very musical, it wasn't executed poorly. With that said, I still don't like musicals lol.

The part where dan met with god was so gosh darn hillarious though lmao. Good rating simply because that part made me laugh so hard.

Wow!
mattrabbi29 May 2021
I haven't been compelled to write a review for this show up until now, but I'm just shocked that some people didn't like this! Going into it, knowing the concept, I expected it to be a pretty meh episode, but this genuinely surprised me.

I don't really care for musicals but regardless of whether this was a musical episode or not, this episode was one of the most hilarious, emotional, and entertaining episodes of the show thus far!

The musical stuff wasn't overbearing either, it didn't feel forced, and didn't feel like it was the whole point of the episode. I feel like some people are so closed-minded that as soon as they see a concept they don't normally like, they instantly rate poorly.

However this became an instant favourite for me. Well done!

Such a unique episode
hallbm30 May 2021
I loved this episode! Usually I am not a fan of musicals, but the way the musical dance numbers were incorporated into this episode was so entertaining. It had to involve an incredible amount of rehearsal and creativity writing. Wow! Everyone on this show is so talented.

My favorite was Lucifer (Tom Ellis) singing "Every Breath You Take" with Debbie Gibson in the interrogation room. My favorite line was Lucifer to Debbie Gibson (playing a overbearing/helicopter parent).

Lucifer: "Madam please! Ground your helicopter."

I normally hate musicals
James098729 May 2021
Like for real, I hate them. So much to the point where I was considering skipping this episode entirely. It just breaks the realism for me when they do musical episodes. It doesn't make any sense, but he way they did this was fantastic.

Yes it was cheesy, but leather pants
nlmike29 May 2021
I am not a huge fan of this sorta episode, but the crew wanted to do it, and they clearly had fun. So why the hell not!

And let's face it. Mazikeen's dance routine had you glued to the screen. Just admit it ;)

Truly awful
shrona197330 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I really love this show but this episode was super annoying. The placement of musical numbers makes no sense. Most of the cast members are not the best at singing....and whomever wrote the Bad to the Bone & No Scrubs mashup should be flogged repeatedly for that awful mess...I don't normally mind musical episodes if they are done well, but this one absolutely was not.

Perfect!
mhill050528 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
From the musical section, to the plot, to the acting (every singlee actor here) was just perfect! That's Why Netflix was right to give Lucifer a space! With Queen, The Police, the "Bad" song (I don't remember the name of the band") that Maze sings, the song Ella sings, Dan's song, Trixie's song, the dad-son therapy session with Linda (cracked me up!), Dan not knowing whether to curtsy or what when meeting God (by the way, I love how Denis Haysbert plays him!), Dan afraid of God being jealous.... I mean all of the episode. All the acting, songs, It was hilarious! And everything in service to this hilarious plot. I absolutely loved it! Thank you, cast, crew and Netflix!

Why?
Vandora959629 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Why do you have to make a musical out of a phenomenal TV show, just why? Is this a trend? Does everyone want to ruin everything? Just stop with this, it's awful. I love the TV show but this is a 1* episode, for sure.

I don't like musicals
kbsts28 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode bothered me as I do not like musicals whatsoever... but this is brilliant. The joy the fear, the family arguments in every family ever, and the most amazing soundtrack ever (even though they are not original) are amazing. The best episode ever. By the will of God... if you like!

Lucifer and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist had a baby!
mavericksy30 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It's fun to sometimes shake things up keep things interesting. I think that is exactly what this episode is for. Some random fun along with the storyline. Karaoke in the title is appropriate as that is about the quality of the singing, though decent enough not to make you cringe. The dancing numbers are done well though.

I don't like random musical numbers in series like these. But at least it's not as bad as Riverdale's.

Hard to watch
xeentje28 May 2021
I want to follow all episodes, but this one was hard to watch. The constant singing and dancing was annoying and at times just plain bad. Just skip to the last minute to hear that and save yourself the rest of the hour.

All stars for Debbie Gibson!
chefsk20024 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I cackled out loud when Another One Bites The Dust happened. But when Debbie Gibson sang out, I stood up and cheered!

I don't even know what will happen next, but I love this episode. How can you not love the combo of Bad To The Bone and No Scrubs? Who even are you people?

Oh, Dan. In the afterlife. This episode rocks!!

Round of applause for Tom Ellis's falsetto
We knew Tom Ellis could sing so it should be no surprise that we opened the episode with all the vocal range in his performance of Wicked Game. But still - damn dude.

Otherwise, overall okay episode. I think the musical episodes of Scrubs and Buffy were so good because they had original songs. This and all other series who just use songs that already exist within the story...meh.
