Sad this over; it built so beautifully over 3 series.
There are familiar challenges for Cathy here, many moments where she kindly bites her tongue while we the viewers fume at the tv on her behalf. But also some wonderful pay-offs and moments between characters we haven't seen before. Why can't there be more? Too much of a good thing maybe.

So Satisfying!

Has there ever been a more satisfying ending than the final scene in this episode. I've watched it several times and it just makes my day every time. Leslie Manville just gives a Master Class in "less is more" acting through out three seasons to give us this heart singing finale. All the cast is spectacular, but the actors that play her in-laws are my favorites. The excellent scripts give them the lions share of thoughtful funny lines. Even when I rewatch and finish - I know I'll be watching it all over again. Treat yourself to some delicious British comfort food. And try to not pronounce the name "Cathayy" going forward. You can't!

Warning: Spoilers
A great three year run for Mum ends with this episode. You don't see too many slow builds on TV any more so the show spending so much time having Cathy and Michael wait before getting together made the moment work.
An enjoyable finale and I'll miss the show.
The badminton rant was incredible.
