The moment in the beginning with Darshani was everything, love Michael Douglas as the tough but sensitive mentor. Solid episode with some heartfelt moments.

All of the elements come to the fore. The characters all have their sore spots. Norman has the opportunity of a lifetime and can't accept his good fortune. His attitude toward his daughter is very realistic. She has been a mess her whole life, but one can see some of the substructure of her being with a father like Norman. He and Sandy are great friends (most of the time), but he is irascible and mean and set in his ways. As a father, he probably set the boat on its course. No, it wasn't funny, but these parts of the lives of all are necessary for the whole package.

Warning: Spoilers
Norman Newlander is as we say this side of the pond a complete and utter wally, as his best and only friend Sandy describes him. "There is something broken inside"
Norman has met up with an old flame Madelyn and they wind up, sharing a dinner date with his errant daughter Phoebe.
The evening starts off well in a convivial manner but unsurprisingly, Norman being Norman can't let sleeping dogs lay.
Sandy continues to get along like a house afire with Martin, much to his daughter Mindy's increasing dismay.

Warning: Spoilers
After watching this episode and getting ready to write the review I sat and tried to think of something that stood out and I got nothing.
Was it a horrible episode? No, but it just wasn't noteworthy at all. Since we're only getting 8 episodes a year I need more than this.
