Olive is doing her spring cleaning, including giving a long kiss to the picture on her table of lover-boy Popeye. She notices her caged pet bird "Juliet" looks depressed. "Of course, she needs a boyfriend," deduces Olive. She calls up Popeye and asks him if he could find her bird a boyfriend.
"Sure, does she want one that's tall, dark and hands-come or does she want one that looks like me?" laughs Popeye, who then goes down to the pet shop looking to find "a romantical boid."
Popeye seems to have a made a good choice, bringing back "Romeo," but the female bird quickly starts nagging Romeo and he flies out the window. Olive, in her typical fickle way, tells Popeye to get the bird back or she'll never speak to him again.
Popeye must find and get Romeo back. The cute ending to this saved it from being nothing special.
