Warning: Spoilers
In comedy terms, the late Welsh actor Philip Madoc is best remembered for his role as a U-Boat Commander in the 'Dad's Army' classic 'The Deadly Attachment' ("Don't tell him, Pike!" ). He cropped up in other sitcoms as well, such as 'Porridge', 'The Good Life', and, of course, 'The Squirrels'. He plays 'Reggie Parsons', an apparently successful businessman who used to bully Rex at school. When he and Rex meet up again, the latter wants his old enemy to think he has gotten on in the world, and - with Mr. Fletcher away - he pretends to be running International Rentals. All goes well until Fletcher returns unexpectedly to collect his briefcase...

Madoc is perfectly cast as the slimy Reggie. When 'Fiddlers Three' remade this in the early 90's, Paul Darrow ( of 'Blake's Seven' fame ) took over the role of Reggie. There's no Burke in this episode, although Ellis Jones gets a mention in the opening titles. The bombastic theme tune was by Ken Jones. To avoid confusion with the actor who played 'Rex', Jones received no credit.

Funniest moment - Rex receiving a visit from the 'Sugar Balls' man. Recognising the voice, he removes the man's head covering. It is Reggie, looking suitably embarrassed.
