I said on another review that the best 'Gang' episodes featured either Frankie or Dennis ( or combined! ). Well, this features neither but somehow contrives to be one of the best episodes.

Sharon is demoralised after flubbing a job interview. Growing impatient with Eric for failing to propose marriage, they row and decide to split. Peter is tempted to move in on her, but common decency prevails and he manages to restrain himself. Eric, on the other hand, shows no such restraint and asks Maureen on a date...

Quite a few familiar faces here. Future 'Eastenders' star Pam St.Clement is seen briefly as an awkward customer in Sharon's boutique. John Louis Mansi, from 'Allo Allo', is 'Guilio', Mrs.Eversleigh's latest 'gentlemen friend'. Sandra Bryant was 'Sandra' in several 'On The Buses' episodes. As for Wendy Richard...you don't need me to explain who she was. You probably need me to explain who Ray Fell, who plays the M.C., is though. He was once tipped to be a big star, and didn't make it.

Funniest moment - having won 'Miss Fenn Street' in 'That Sort Of Girl', Sharon accepts an invitation to go to Worthing to compete for 'Miss South Coast'. Two malicious girls - Sandra ( Sandra Bryant ) and Myrna ( Wendy Richard ) blow her chances by covering her face in thick make-up and giving her the wrong answers to the M.C.'s questions. Poor Sharon finishes up looking like 'Medusa' from 'Clash Of The Titans' ( 1981 ).
