It has its moments.

Eddie is behaving even more vaguely than normal, so much so that Ada is worried that something's wrong, the truth is, he'd in love with a beautiful girl named Marilyn, the trouble, Marilyn is central to two warring Ganga of Teds.

Maybe not the funniest episode so far, but it does have its moments, no, what this is, is a truly interesting snapshot of the era, showing the behaviour of the smart, but troublesome Teds.

I tried to think what this put me in mind of, and it came to me, an episode of Are you being served called The Hold up, in which Mrs Slocombe pretended to be hard nut Mad Ma Gumby, similar here with Big Ada.

The standout moment, and perhaps the one funny sequence, where Alf and Ada turn the tables on their young, unwanted guests.

Derren Nesbitt made a name in playing villains, he was pretty good.

Hot and cold, but a decent episode.

6/10.

Teddy for Eddie

Loosely inspired by the stage musical West Side Story. The rise of motorcycle gangs and teddy boys.

Eddie has been out all hours, sometime coming home at 4 o'clock in the morning. He is smitten with a girl called Marilyn. This upsets the next door neighbour Myrtle who has been going steady with Eddie.

Also irate is Jeff. He has a deadline to meet to finish his story. He cannot find a quiet place to work. There is noise everywhere especially Eddie's jazz records.

It is Ada and Alf who have to think on their feet when a gang war threatens to break out between the Beetles and the Spiders.

I wonder if this episode inspired four lads from Liverpool!
