Slow to start, but a good ending.

Ada has employed a new cleaning lady at The Cafe, Mrs Gannett, but nobody is impressed with her cleaning skills, or her nosiness, Georgie hatches a plan to get rid of her, once and for all.

It's slow, at times painfully slow, but it does get funnier, and the ending is well thought out, and pretty funny. I do like Mrs Gannett.

One thing worth pointing out, it looks and feels like a totally different show, it's a shame they didn't just call it Alf and Ada, it's so detached from the early years.

Well, it does make a nice change to see Ada outgunned and outsmarted in the battle of the battle axes, Hazel Coppen is delightful as the lazy and clueless Mrs Gannett, a real shame the one episode of The Avengers she appeared in is lost, it sounds a riot.

6/10.

Help Unwanted

Osbert Rigby-Soames is not the only one that likes the fact that the cafe is frequented by the young ladies from the biscuit factory. Even though the factory has its own canteen.

Ada is not too pleased to see Alf chatting to one of the floozies. However what gets up everyone's wick is the cleaning lady Mrs Gannett.

She is nosey, lazy and drinks Osbert's booze. The customers think she is a nuisance.

Alf wants shot of her and young Georgie has a plan. Unfortunately his boobytrap backfires leaving Mrs Gannet injured.

As she convalences at their expense. Alf and Ada look for her son but Sid Gannett turns out to be a sponger as well. Now they need to get rid of them both who are staying in their property.

Another weak episode, Alf and ada must be made of money to put up with Mrs Gannet's demands.
