Alf tries to get one up on his mates, and bravado gets the better of him, he agrees to a friendly game of darts.....one with a £50 stake, it just so happens the evening they've chosen is Alf and Ada's wedding anniversary, a date he's forgotten.
Series five has felt very strange, with half of the cast missing, it has felt as though something important is missing, just like poor Hetty's family, who have all seemed to have abandoned here.
It was nice to see the focus on Alf and Ada's relationship, up until now their marriage has been functional, we've not had a single hint of romance, this does explore that side of their union.
There are a couple of funny sequences, Alf desperately trying to get to the match was funny, Charlie was a scream. Always good to see Victor Maddern,he was quite a prolific actor.
Less focus on Georgey's calamities, which is good, they could have over egged the pudding as it were.
6.5/10.
