This is another honorable mention, do like that it's written by comic book writer Buzz Dixon. This episode is pretty much your typical frame up plotline, but it's still done well.
It's easy to figure out that the person causing the destruction at the mall and music convention isn't Jem as the behavior is the typical behavior you'd see from the Misfits. However, it was still fun, and Samantha probably had a good time just voicing this possible alternative version of Jem, if Jem let herself go on her ego.
The episode satires on the unhealthy character assassination trend which unfortunately has now gotten worse as it became epidemic. There seems to always be someone or a mob of people out to get someone as a short cut to upper status by destroying the person's innocence.
It's true this episode has an inconsistence or two like how the heck Eric could have possibly set up a certain trap for Jem, Rio and the Holograms. I've heard of being a step or two ahead but this far ahead is just too big a stretch. Let alone how the heck Jerrica/Jem knows how to build a raft was she a former girl scout. I don't know despite these things you just roll with it as it's the show "Jem" after all.
I also like this other moment when Jem and her friends hitch a ride with a farmer and his daughter. The farmer at first is reluctant because of the news he's heard about Jem but the daughter she never believed any of the news. I really liked that, and this is coming from a little girl who is doing what any adults and just everyone at any age should do, think for yourself.
That is the message in this episode on the importance of thinking for yourself, don't just blindly believe everything you see and hear because what you see isn't always what your get and what you hear isn't always the truth.
Jerrica is Jem because she is the truth.
