The Father was Miscast
stvnmetzger12 July 2022
The father looks too old, with white hair and elderly facial features--looks more like a grandfather than a father. Maybe we are supposed to believe that he aged tremendously after the accident or that he had a son late in life or that he just did not age gracefully. The storyline was believable otherwise.

Warning: Spoilers
The second episode of the series titled "Revenge" is interesting, in that we see two performers who would make it big in the 1960s. First, we have Dyan Cannon (billed as Dianne Cannon) as the fiance of a man murdered because his father killed his in an accident.

And the murderer? A young Robert Conrad, already showing the edgy quality that he would display on later shows, such as Hawaiian Eye and The Wild, Wild West.

And, of course, William Boyett, who went on to play the third major role in Adam-12.

Highway Patrol may be 60+ years old but is definitely an enjoyable watch. It's proof that you can tell a story within a specified period of time, and at a good clip.
