Mary (Francesca Annis) is a bright promising student. She has placed herself under great pressure to try to get into an Oxbridge university.

The police superintendent (Tony Steedman) is not convinced that Jones is the culprit and thinks that he is mentally ill.
Dr Corder finds himself taking an interest in both Mary and Jones. Corder figures that Jones is a recovering alcoholic who is on the edge of a breakdown.
I found Jones story more intriguing. A good performance from Tony Steedman who is better known as Charlie Mark II in Citizen Smith and appearing in the first Bill & Ted movie.
