British art-rock band Roxy Music reunited as they were welcomed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Class of 2019’s induction ceremony at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Frontman Bryan Ferry, guitarist Phil Manzanera and saxophonist Andy Mackay were joined by a band and backup singers and kicked things off with For Your Pleasure’s “In Every Home a Heartache,” looking like shadows, as they were washed in white white lights. The keyboard wormed its way around Ferry’s voice until things kicked into a psychedelic spectacle.

It can't be a big surprise that there was some hesitation on the part of film fans when it was announced a new Judge Dredd film was being made. After all, the British comic book's 1995 adaptation, which starred Sylvester Stallone, didn't exactly strike a chord with the public and was a box office bomb.
The new feature, Dredd, bombed as well when it was released in September 2012, but the critical response has been quite positive and this new film has the makings of a cult classic. Now that this version, which is much more faithful to the graphic novel, has made its way to DVD, I suspect the film will get the devoted fan base it was denied during its theatrical run.
One of the things that makes this adaptation different is that it features Karl Urban of Lord of the Rings and Star Trek fame. Over the course of his career,...

The rolling green hills of The Shire never looked so good and Howard Shore’s majestic score has never sounded so sweet. That’s right, the first official trailer for The Hobbit has arrived and it’s so good it’ll make you grow hair on your feet. In it you’ll hear a voice over of Bilbo Baggins start into another storytelling session to Frodo and soon we see Gandalf luring Bilbo Baggins into his destiny to the Lonely Mountain in search of the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the dragon Smaug. Martin Freeman looks terrific as the younger Bilbo Baggins and he should be splendid in the lead role. There’s also a few familiar faces that will be sure to please fans as well as a roll call of the 13 dwarves joining Bilbo and Gandalf. The trailer is also planned to be shown in theaters before...

Yesterday, we brought you a first look at The Hobbit’s handsome dwarves Fili and Kili, played by Dean O’Gorman (Farscape) and Aidan Turner (Being Human) and last week was a look at Dwarven brothers Nori, Ori and Dori, played by Jed Brophy (Lotr), Adam Brown (ChuckleVision), and Mark Hadlow (King Kong) respectively.
Today, we have our first peek at a few “hair”-oic dwarves, if you’ll pardon the pun. Check out the hair on these guys! The hair and make up department sure have their hands full with this lot. Bofur, Bombur, and Bifur are played by James Nesbitt (Jekyll), Stephen Hunter (Spirited), and William Kircher (Out of the Blue):
Via IGN, Bofu, Bombur and Bifur are described as such:
While most of the Company of Thorin Oakensheild is related to the royal and noble line of Durin, Bofur, his brother Bombur and their cousin Bifur most definitely are … not.

Yesterday it was the royal hunks, today's "The Hobbit" dwarf pictorial (via Stuff.co.nz) features three more dwarves who represent a quite different background - the rougher and life loving working class trio of Bombur (Stephen Hunter), Bofur (James Nesbitt) and Bifur (William Kircher). Here's the description of their characters:
"Born and bred in the West, descendants of coal miners and iron workers, they have joined the Quest for the Lonely Mountain partly to seek their fortune and partly because they were told the beer was free."
Hunter is a familiar face on Australian and New Zealand television with a role in several episodes of the acclaimed "Love My Way" along with guest starring roles on "All Saints," "Spirited," "Mercy Peak" and "Street Legal".
Irish actor Nesbitt is an outright legend of British television with memorable leading role turns in "Jekyll," "Cold Feet," "Ballykissangel," "Playing the Field," "Murphy's Law,...

Ant and Dec have admitted that signing sensation Ronan Parke was their favourite act on last week’s Britain’s Got Talent show.
The 12-year-old schoolboy has been compared to Justin Bieber, since he was seen wowing the judges with his version of Nina Simone’s Feeling Good on the ITV show. However he wasn’t at all confident in his ability and suffered badly with nerves before taking to the stage, according to show hosts Ant and Dec.
They said: “Surely the star of this week’s show was 12 year-old Ronan Parke, who was absolutely terrified before going on stage but really need not have been. He received a well-deserved standing ovation from the entire audience in the HMV Hammersmith Apollo and the three judges too, not often that that’s happened believe us.

Out Of The Blue brought a touch of class to tonight’s Britain’s Got talent episode.
The acapella group all attend Oxford University together and before auditioning for Michael McIntyre, Amanda Holden and Louis Walsh, told Ant and Dec that they were looking forward to their ‘momentous’ opportunity, adding:
We’ve been practising for quite a while now so we want to go out there and give it our best shot.
They then took to the stage and sang originally arranged versions of Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance and Justin Timberlake’s Sexy Back for the panel.
We loved that for such posh boys, they were actually quite cool and even a little bit hip. It was all very Glee-esque and being total Gleeks and Mr Schu obsessed, we absolutely loved it!
They could be the UK version of Blane and Kurt’s Warblers!

They told the judges:
We’re all students at either Oxford University or Oxford Brooks. We’re all doing very different degrees. We have Classics , Chemistry, Maths. It’s really nice to have a variety. We’re an acapella group, we don’t use any instruments. We think that’s really exciting. Within the group we’re all really good friends. Singing with mates is probably my favourite thing to do. Really belting it out is a lot of fun. Today is a momentous day for the group. We’ve been practising for quite a while now...

The pair split just before the first series of the ITV2 show and will be planning their wedding on the second, because amazingly, insiders say that the beauty said yes.
A pal of Mark’s told The Daily Star:
“It definitely took a lot of balls for Mark to pop the question but he did.
“Whether they’ll end up actually walking down the aisle is another matter but for now they’re definitely engaged.”
Mark proposed at Essex club Sugar Hut and an onlooker said:
“All of The Only Way Is Essex crew were in Sugar Hut because they were filming.
“Out of the blue Mark got down on one knee. Everyone’s mouths just fell open.”

She's posh, rich and randy. At least, that's how the cruel jibe goes. But is that fair? Tanya Gold goes in search of the modern chalet girl
I am in Méribel, a tiny resort in the French Alps. It is two streets filled with wooden houses, a one- Porsche town. I am looking for chalet girls and this is their natural home. I have never met a chalet girl and so, to me, they are semi- mythical creatures. Some people think they are literally a porn film, named Chalet Girls. Others think they are posh morons who go and work in the French Alps every year from December to April, where they burn toast and get chlamydia.
Or are chalet girls, who earn about €120 a week (plus tips, board, food and ski pass) exploited by their employers, even if there are five applicants for every job? This is the Marxist interpretation of the phenomenon.

Long-term Comic Relief supporter and pop legend George Michael is set to release a new single ‘True Faith’ in support of this year’s Red Nose Day.
The pop legend arranged and produced the single which was originally a hit for New Order in 1987, and the writers, Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris, Gillian Gilbert and Stephen Hague are also giving their royalties to Comic Relief.

"Out of the blue one year he gave us all the cash from the release of ‘As’, his single with Mary J. Blige. Then he did a brilliant Little Britain ‘Lou and Andy’ sketch – which ended with the inevitable insult slung at him – “I don’t like him.” But most excitingly, he’s giving Comic Relief all his royalties from his new single,...

Here’s a little background if you’re not yet up to speed. Charlie Sheen was supposed to do an exclusive interview with ABC News. ABC News had huge plans to air different parts of their one of a kind interview on all their news shows, get people talking about the whole thing, and really just rake in that Charlie Sheen interview money. But then, Out Of The Blue, it turns out Charlie Sheen also did an interview with NBC News. It’s almost like you can’t even trust megalomaniac star actors who are on 43,000 drugs anymore. Anyway, what is happening to Charlie Sheen is undeniably sad. It would be nice if he could step out of the public eye and take care of his problems in private with the help of a loving family and professionals who know how to get people through to the other side of substance abuse.

Seven more names have been locked in for Peter Jackson's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic "The Hobbit" in an official press release today.
As previously reported, former "Doctor Who" star Sylvester McCoy is now officially locked and is indeed playing the wizard Radagast the Brown. Not unexpected but a highly pleasurable confirmation as well today is that Oscar winner Cate Blanchett will reprise her role of Galadriel, the Lady of Lothlorien which she portrayed in the "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
Joining them are Swedish actor Mikael Persbrandt ("Everlasting Moments") as the shape-shifter Beorn, veteran British these Ken Stott ("Shallow Grave," "Rebus") as the Dwarf Lord Balin.
Two more dwarves have been cast - New Zealanders Jed Brophy ("The Warrior's Way," "District 9") and William Kircher ("Out of the Blue," "City Life") will play Nori and Bifur respectively. Finally, Ryan Gage (Outlaw, BBC's "Hamlet") will play Bilbo Baggins' second cousin Drogo.

Out of the blue comes a movie titled I Want Your Money. It is the Republican answer to all those Michael Moore movies that drove them crazy. And just as those films gave the liberal point of view, this movie gives the conservative one. The point of the movie is that Obama is ruining the country and the only way to save it is to go back to Reagan's views and policies. The maker of the film and the on screen narrator is Ray Griggs, who is as annoying in his manner as Moore is in his. Griggs has a bland exterior and speaks in almost a monotone. He provides some connectivity in the film with his monologues while ushering in people such as Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee to make some points. The most enjoyable elements of the movie are the...

The type of movie you like will probably determine how you know Karl Urban. Big fan of the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy? He played Eomer. Like the 'Star Trek' reboot? He was "Bones" McCoy. Fond of culty syndicated TV shows like 'Hercules' and' Xena'? He was both Julius Caesar and Cupid (not at the same time). Or perhaps you've caught the New Zealand actor in 'The Bourne Supremacy,' indie film 'Out of the Blue' or even, if you care to admit to watching it, 'Doom.'
Urban returns to the big screen this weekend in 'Red,' a heist comedy so chock-full of big-name stars like Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman and John Malkovich that Urban isn't even in the trailer, which is practically a crime. In this adaptation of a D.C. Comics graphic novel,...

Billy Corgan has criticised Courtney Love for insulting him while still playing his songs during her live shows. The Smashing Pumpkins frontman told The Courier-Mail that Love should not be performing the material that he contributed to Hole's Celebrity Skin and comeback album Nobody's Daughter. Corgan said of Love: "She's a great artist, I've always believed in her ability and certainly have looked the other way with her issues. "Out of the blue she's talking s**t. She's got that crazy thing where she creates fantasies if people don't do what she wants them to do, like saying I snuck on to her record." He continued: "The irony to tell the world totally untrue things about me, and then to go on (more)...

Billy Corgan has reignited his war of words with Courtney Love, insisting she's "an idiot" for continuing to criticize him. The Smashing Pumpkins rocker decided to "break all ties" with his former pal earlier this year after falling out over songs on the Hole singer's album "Nobody's Daughter".
Corgan reportedly produced and played guitar on two tracks on the record, and claimed it "would be a real big problem" if Love used the material because he hadn't given permission. Love dismissed the dispute, insisting she was allowed to use the tracks, but she later blasted Corgan on her Twitter page, branding him "jealous and obsessed" with her daughter Frances Bean Cobain.
Now the rocker has hit back, insisting she should stop singing the songs he worked on if she feels his contribution was "so worthless" - and he's threatened to reveal other nasty truths about the troubled star. He tells Brisbane-based newspaper The Courier-Mail,...

First of all: Yes, we know she's officially Deborah Gibson now, but for anybody who grew up with "Shake Your Love" and "Out of the Blue," she'll always be Debbie. Today is her 40th birthday, so be sure to save her the big slice of cake and let her take a few extra swings at the pinata.
Gibson broke onto the pop scene just before her 17th birthday when she dropped her debut album Out of the Blue in 1987. Though most teenage pop sensations are the product of an army of producers, songwriters and stylists, Gibson was a completely self-made star who wrote, produced and arranged all of the songs on her debut. The album spawned a cavalcade of hit singles, including "Only in My Dreams," the aforementioned "Shake Your Love" and the title track. Those songs drove Out of the Blue to sales of three million in the U.

This biopic of England's nine-day queen gives Grey the hots for her boorish husband and strips her of her fine last words
Director: Trevor Nunn
Entertainment grade: C+
History grade: D+
Lady Jane Grey was a cousin of King Edward VI. Just before his death, he named her his successor. She was proclaimed Queen of England on 10 July 1553, but reigned for only nine days before she was ousted by Edward's elder half-sister Mary I.

Lady Jane (Helena Bonham Carter) is sitting around reading Plato while everyone else goes out hunting. Her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Suffolk, return, and are vile. But she befriends the teenaged King Edward VI, who swans in wearing a massive fur and velvet hat brimming with ostrich feathers and a sprig of gumball-sized pearls "en tremblant". It’s near impossible to let a celebrity rest in peace, isn’t it? Christopher Reeve had his memory tarnished with allegations of a relationship with a gay porn star. It’s now Michael Jackson’s turn. Out of the blue - that’s how these things happen - a certain Mocienne Petit Jackson has popped up claiming to be Michael Jackson’s illegitimate child. Ms. Jackson, who currently lives in the Netherlands, spins such a crazy yarn that we can’t even form a proper note about it. Enjoy the hallucination. Michael Jackson got her mother Barbara pregnant. This was in 1975, when he was 17 years old. Her mother, Barbara, is Diana Ross‘ sister, making Mocienne her niece. Katherine Jackson, Mj’s mother, tried to abduct Mocienne when she was 9 years old because she wanted to protect Mj’s image and send Mocienne to Belgium. All seven of her kidnappers are now dead.

Robert Pattinson saved by crazy fans. Being Robert Pattinson, as the star has said himself, is extremely difficult at times. While the "Twilight Saga" star doesn't enjoy being swarmed by obsessed fans 24/7, he has realized that having so many followers can be a good thing. In a recent interview with French magazine Telepoche, the 24-year-old star reveals how his heroic friends offered him protection from the paparazzi while on the set of his upcoming drama "Water For Elephants" which co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz from "Inglourious Basterds." "I was filming 'Water for Elephants' in which my partner is Reese Witherspoon. We had a scene with elephants but there were so many paparazzi around that it was scaring the animals and it was impossible to film. Out of the blue, fans that were waiting for autographs had enough and circled around the paparazzi. Teens made big guys run away.

Robert Pattinson's fans came to his rescue on the set of "Water for Elephants" - they forced the paparazzi to stop snapping the star as he shot dangerous scenes with Reese Witherspoon. The Brit plays a circus worker in the new movie, and found himself filming with a variety of animals throughout the shoot.
Snappers frequently descended on the California set to try and catch Pattinson and Witherspoon at work, and at one stage they were distracting the pair during a scene - but the Twilight star's waiting fans saved the day.
He tells Telepoche magazine, "(The funniest fan experience) happened while I was filming Water for Elephants in which my partner is Reese Witherspoon. We had a scene with elephants but there were so many paparazzi around that it was scaring the animals and it was impossible to film."

As you probably already know, there’s a splashy, new remake of The Karate Kid hitting theaters this weekend. But as someone who grew up with the 1984 original, I’m too old to fit into the target demographic for the thing — not that it looks like something I’d want to waste ten bucks on anyways. That said, I will watch the ’80s version any time it comes on TV. Why? Well, not because it’s a particularly great movie, and not because I have a particular fondness for the original Daniel-san, Ralph Macchio, or Mr. Miyagi’s stereotypical fortune-cookie wisdom.
