Surpasses Goodbye Lady Liberty
emasterslake5 August 2006
This is the second TV movie. And it was done by the same people that did the first one "Goodbye Lady Liberty".

this time Lupin is after the documents that lead to Ernest Hemingway's treasure hold. One a less populated island.

On the island there's a civil war going on with 2 sides wanting the same thing, which is Hemingway's treasure. In order to do that you must have directions from Hemingway's Papers. Which is in the hands of a tank merchant/millionaire.

Jigen and Goemon went their separate ways. But they ended up fighting for the opposite armies that want the Hemingway Treasure. And they both have their own reasons. So Lupin will have to help both them out without each side knowing that they're not apart of anyone's war.

With the help of a Bar Tender woman and Fujiko, Lupin will have quite an adventure in finding out the secrets of Hemingway's treasure.

This one's pretty good and has some greater moments than the first one. Course I still say Goodbye Lady liberty is good for it's time. Animation is decent and old. But the story and character kept it interesting to watch. This is also yet to be dubbed in English someday. So for now it's only available in fan subs.

Hemingway Papers is a pretty enjoyable early Lupin special.

Lupin and the gang end up on an island where two tyrants are having a conflict, and a sleazy arms dealer is in the middle. That guy wants a treasure, and of course so do Lupin and Fujiko.

Jigen has a pretty interesting role in this, getting hired by one of the tyrants to infiltrate them and get revenge against a crazy mercenary, who he has a problem with from the past. They really play up Jigen's stoic badass nature in this, which is nice.

Goemon hears that a chest can't be cut by his legendary Zantetsuken blade, so it's his mission to cut it. He's funny and cool as always, the straight man to the more wacky things happening around him. Inspector Zenigata is entertaining in his few token scenes as well.

Fujiko has some entertaining dialogue with Lupin here, of course, their chemistry is classic stuff. They do some thievery in this, as you'd imagine.

There's a woman, Maria, who owns a bar on the island and has her own issues with the villains here. She's pretty cool, and is a fine guest star in this story.

Pretty much, the Lupin gang fight people, have some amusing interactions with each other, commit some crimes, and do some heroic stuff as well. This one doesn't stand out, but it gets the job done.

If you enjoy the Lupin brand of entertainment, this should be on your watch list.

Fairly enjoyable Lupin film

Lupin iii film 20

This time everyone on the team has something that needs to be settled on their lives, and get hired by different factions after 1 same objective: the map treasure.

Jigen has unfinished business with a traitor, Goemon hears about something his katana can't cut, Fujiko and Lupin are after the treasure as always: everyone will eventually team up for the same goal. Marie and Zenigata are secondary characters this time.

One thing I liked is their recurrent meeting at Marie's bar, which becomes their base. There's very little time dedicated to Marie but still our thief steals her heart.

I would recommend, not the best best Lupin film but enjoyable.

Warning: Spoilers
Then this film was the first Lupine III film that I saw when I was very young then this film the four bands separated to do different purposes for example Jigen is looking for another job Ghemon distance is looking for one thing because they say that not even his sword canbreak Fujiko has become the secretary of a rich man Lupine went to an island to look for a tail that he had written in Hemingway's papers so he looks for a treasure but on that island it is inhabited by two people who want to govern the island but this time in this film Inspector Zenigatathis time it's just a secondary character then the villains of this movie are not at all interesting that they end up really bad instead the really interesting villain who was Jigen's partner That was really less interesting I feel very sorry for Maria's characterbecause he seemed like a good character to me But the problem is that he has little space in the film But that part when you kiss Lupine is something that doesn't always happen in this character as I already said This film is quite good but it's not one of the best Lupine III film to conclude vote7-
