Crude, funny and crass!
garymingj29 July 2006
Grab some friends and a case of Busch Light, then sit down and watch 'Lamb TV'. This compilation of 20 or so short films is gross, funny, disturbing, and down right awesome. I laughed so much during the first ten minutes that I nearly vomited. I simply couldn't catch my breath.

I guess this pre-Jackass compilation spans from the days of the Jerky Boys all the way to the present, which makes it truly amazing if you think about it, given all the reality TV these days. The content of 'Lamb TV' is without doubt original and one-of-a-kind.

At times it is so crude & crass though, i.e. "Best Little Hippie Chick in Boulder" sketch, that it can be damn near unwatchable. But once you start, you just can't wait to see what happens next that's for sure. Then again, it might just be that thing that we humans do when there's an accident on the side of the road and you just have to slow down to have a look at the bodies and the damage. Needless to say, this movie isn't for everyone, so don't watch this if you can't handle chaotic mayhem.

For those who care, I found 'Lamb TV' online at Amazon.com.

Outrageous
aly-322 August 2006
I sat down to watch this 'Lamb TV' DVD having read no reviews, or seen anything about it. I didn't even know who starred in it, I knew absolutely nothing. Which was a good thing, because I think that any review may have kept me from watching this outrageous collection of short films.

So when I was given this video to watch, I thought "this is gonna be mediocre." Well, I sat there and howled with laughter from beginning to end. I was still laughing days later, sooo much to laugh about. The films are insane, some bizarre, rude, crude, but certainly comical and often witty.

If you're looking for Hitchcock terror or M. Night Shyamalan suspense, then you better head elsewhere. But if you want to be entertained in variety of hilarious ways, then check Lamb TV out.

These guys make funny films that's for sure!!!
yeticarbon10 October 2006
When I found out that "Lamb TV" was made by the same guys (Alex Harz & Tom Kennedy) who did "?" movie, I had to check it out. Though not at all similar to "?", "Lamb TV" is just as funny and provocative in its own way.

This is a true short-film, eclectic masterpiece. It definitely requires multiple viewings, because each time you watch it, you will enjoy subtle little things that you may have overlooked before. I watched this anthology of about 20 short-films several times in the past week, and it still amazes me, from start to finish it had me laughing on the edge of my seat.

Of course "Lamb TV" is not for everyone, nor its similar cinematic brethren, "Jackass" 1 and 2, or even these guys' other film, "?" movie, but I would recommend you to watch it at least twice to even begin to truly enjoy the raw, crass, and ingenious humor that these short-films offer. I can't wait to see what they produce next!!

Tomfoolery in work!
wooostuff30 January 2007
I haven't seen much of the Jackass television series from MTV, or the original movie when it was released in 2002. Nonetheless I shall unabashedly say that I had a good time watching Lamb TV, which people say compares and will only appeal to those who have a thing for low browed humor.

Lamb Television consists of various episodes of skits, ranging from the vulgar to the dangerous, featuring a host of people who are willing to capture on film some ridiculous, nonsensical scenarios and candid camera-ish funny moments to either humiliate, or just have plain fun. The gags range from simple masturbation spoofs, to elaborate rouses on the unsuspecting public.

Be prepared for plenty of scenes of tomfoolery. If it's not your kind of thing and you dismiss toilet humor easily, then steer clear of this comedy anthology. There's no joke that cannot be made here, no holds barred.

If you want to unwind after a hard day's work, in need of some mindless fun and comedy, and not bother about plot or characters, then Lamb TV is an automatic choice. Just don't repeat what they do, in your real life.

The funniest sketches since the Wayan Bros.
steveschollberg9 August 2006
95% of the sketches on this DVD are just gut bustin hilarious! Funny like the Wayan Brothers, crazy like Jackass and fu**ed-up like the Chappelle Show.

Some of the grittiness and scratchiness of Lamb TV comes from the harsh nature that for everything we consider to be funny, there is some truth floating around in there. Lamb TV may be hard to swallow at times, like Jackass, but for the most part it generally turns out to be lots of fun. Its creative and very alive. My favorites sketches of Volume 1 are "Happy, happy Hank", "Burrito Face", "Chef Lush"... well just about all of them. It's amazing how they came up with some of this stuff. It's the kind of genius one gets while being half-baked or hammered.

All in all you'll see some older material (early - mid 90s) and some closer to today's date, I think about 19 or 20 shorts in all. If you were to throw some stars in there and spend tons of moollah on equipment, it would be a blockbuster for sure, just as Jackass turned out to be. Either way the production quality is similar to Johnny Knoxville's stuff, so if you wanna see gut bustin humor at its best, go check out Lamb TV.

Not an Oscar, but extremely comical
stomperhando24 September 2006
Comical.... some parts are quite strange, but once you get past that its a very funny movie, I liked it a lot. Its highly entertaining. Its simple, and if you take it simply, it will simply entertain you! There are a lot of good laughs, but not to give anything away to anyone that hasn't seen it, I won't mention anything about the assortment of sketches that comprise this film.

This Lamb stuff reminds me a lot of Kentucky Fried Movie, with a modern day reality twist, occasionally overboard, but definitely able to generate tears of laughter. Good movie, no way Oscar worthy, but its a comedy that really goes the distance through the various 20 or so shorts. If you go see Jackass 2, then you should probably try to see this one as well.

Something Wild
faraqabdu23 June 2007
In my home country, Egypt, short films like these do not exist. But in California, where I live now, these films are still wild and not every day.

I found LAMB TV on myspace.com/purefilm and after watching some of the clips, decided to download it to my computer from Amazon Unbox. After the short and easy download from Amazon, I watched, watched some more and rewatched to make sure I saw what I saw. The films are interesting, strange and fun to enjoy if you like weird British style or Jackass comedy, which I admit I certainly do.

Many may not like this LAMB TV but ones who are fans of different comedy most likely will. Its a diamond in the rough and something you will tell your friends about, but probably not your parents..hahahahahaha.

Not your run-of the mill comedy
user-789829 August 2006
This movie or collage of short movies is so funny that each time I see it I laugh aloud. Two segments in particular are classic comedy – Burrito Face, where a fastfood taco restaurant mishap gets caught on tape – Hottest Hippie Chick in Boulder, which I heard on blogs is being referred to as Jon Benet Dance Recital....wooooow! These two segments are, to me, some of the funniest ever filmed!

Basically, its a mixed bag of humor that is not mainstream, not conforming to any stereotypical sitcom or dark comedy, rather different elements from one piece to the next. Lamb TV has everything you need to be make you laugh till your guts fall out or be offended till you do the same.

My only main gripes are – Its not available at every video store yet, but if amazon.com has it, you can find it out there somewhere – Doesn't have Jim Carrey or Will Ferrell in any of the films.

Its wild, wacky and unusual that's for sure. I think I voted 9 out of 10?

Laughing does matter
stvpimp16 October 2006
When you're down and out, mad at your boss, girlfriend or the world, pop in Lamb TV and your spirits are almost guaranteed to be lifted. That's what I did this past weekend, when I got myself in trouble with my old lady.

The somewhat mindless aspects of these films make you just watch, enjoy and soak up the laughs, while the deeper twisted stuff can make ya analyze the situation you're in.

These films are over the edge, in your face, pretty darn cool and funny to the core. Not the best I've ever scene, but original and raw, worth watching for sure. Just make sure you're not easily offended or actually think you are about to pop in some sort of farm animal nature video.

Not normal but worth the watch
dorrismcwoods9 September 2007
Lamb TV is strange, hard to understand at times, but worth the watch for its uniqueness, entertainment value and not knowing what you're going to see next. Weird yes, funny definitely yes!

This hotpot of short films is randomly crafted together like an uniformed spider web, but maybe that is also why it works so well? Its nothing I have seen before since or before. The humor is as diverse as its bizarre nature, at times tough to embrace unless you have an open mind or a dark sense for comedy to soak it all up.

If you can get your hands on Lamb TV, I suggest you take it for a whirl.

Laugh away!

Random, strange, funny and sometimes uncalled-for comedy!
sarah-silberman16 January 2007
From what I can deduct, Lamb TV is a group of guys who have gotten together over the years to perform random, strange, funny and sometimes uncalled-for acts of, well..acts! These short films and sketches fall in line with my fondness for crass, somewhat sick humor, ala dark film noir. I'm a twisted woman, who grew up with sick and disgusting brothers all my life, so I can appreciate the things that this collection of films tries to accomplish, all of which my brothers could only of hoped to of attempted, let alone achieve.

The Jackass, Punk'd and Tarantino fans of the world may really enjoy these films, otherwise you may not see the humor in the matter like I did. Lamb TV is a great rental and a good purchase with high replay value, especially late on a Saturday night when a little bit tipsy.

Some stupid, but definitely mostly funny!
alexharz28 February 2007
Lamb TV is a show-style short film compilation hosted by a group of young men, kind of like "Candid Camera" except with some twists. This collection of sketches is hilarious and kind of smart.

I like this DVD because of its strangeness and quirky humor, but I could understand how some people think it's stupid. Sure there are a few stupid sketches on the disc from time to time that I don't like, but one can't like them all, especially since there are 20 – 22? in total.

But hey, all, and all it's still neat. It's one of my favorite indie DVDs that I own, besides the "Punk'd" collection and "South Park". Pure Film, please send us Volume 2, if you aren't already planning on doing so!?

I definitely recommend this DVD to indie comedy buffs. Watch it!

More revelation in store!
xnapolitano16 April 2008
After hearing about, and then watching "?", a feature black comedy, by the same Directors, I felt compelled to watch this piece, or should I add, puzzle of funniness. Not just to see what other viewing expressions these inventive filmmakers had in store for me, but to a certain extent the intrigue of where their comedic roots sprouted from. I see a lot of similarities, nuances in "LambTV" with its bigger, more ambitious offspring "?", yet many completely unique, unrelated, unexpected kernels of farce as well.

The filming style and technology is often crude and barebones, hitherto the imaginative elements; not. I adore the diversity of humor, the architect of character, and sliver of inimitability that these shorts provide. Like I said about "?", throw all expectations out the window and just experience LambTV on your own terms. You may be pleasantly surprised? Thanks :) Xnapolitano, Berkeley, CA

Off The Wall ~ On The Mark
jzhandle6 April 2011
What is more shocking and funny then these skits, shorts, ala 'Jackass' and the TV show 'What Would You Do ?', is that they have been out for years now and I have never seen them. I love dark comedy, twisted humor, and scour the internet, Netflix, Blockbuster and anywhere else to find it. Always glad to find some new stuff that makes me pea my pants, and revel in the opportunity to analyze, feeling the emotional wetting of laughter. This is funny stuff.

My favorites are the auto mechanic skit and the 7/11 mirror-touting gangbanger. Damn, that's hilarious. Yah never know what's coming next, nor is there any rhyme or reason why it does, just like Jackass. The hidden camera, public scenario stuff is clever, ballsy, and revolutionary, given all those who have followed Lamb TV (Jackass, Punk'd, What Would You Do, etc.)! Chuckle, chuckle, hahahahahahaha!!!
