After the very interesting "Slinger" Director's Cut of Cyborg (1989-also reviewed),I looked for another title from the year to double bill it with. In the mood to view a documentary, when I spotted it this as one of the films near the top of my "To watch" pile from '89,I got set to meet Sebastian.

View on the film:

Going across the globe to see thirty different paintings of San Sebastian, director Eric Pauwels paints a live-wire, rebellious mood over these classic works of art, via Pauwels secretly bringing video cameras in under his coat to art galleries in order to capture his latest sighting of Sebastian.

Narrating over the clouds in a plane as he travels towards the next painting that there is no confirmation over what Sebastian actually looked like, Pauwels brushes on the differences in ideas each of the thirty artists had, towards their perceptions on the portrayal of Sebastian.
