Poetic realism at its best.

What a beautiful film. Poetic realism at its best. An amazing performance by the lead actor, in his first role I believe. And the director, Owen Trevor, is a name to watch. We need more films like this. Seemingly quiet, it has an underlying strength that is quite powerful. Stunning looking, with great Australian beach locations, this film captures that feeling of connection to a childhood place that is international in its reach. The production values are outstanding. A very strong soundtrack and sound mix, a lovely edit and fresh titles design. The cinematography and production design are harmonious, proof of a well established creative team. Based on a solid script with emotive performances from an impressive cast, Wobbegong sings.
