Henrietta Topper's closest friend, Thelma, desperately wants to get married but the thing is she's so clumsy that she scares off prospective beaus. Thelma brings her latest boyfriend over to meet the Toppers. The boyfriend Ed is a bit of a blow hard insurance agent and the meeting with the Toppers does not go well as Thelma spills food and drinks on Ed but it doesn't seem to bother him. Marion thinks Ed is sweet but George thinks he's a phony. When it's learned that the naive Thelma has bought a lot of insurance from Ed and he keeps trying to sell her more, it's clear that George was right. As to be expected, there is a happy ending. Another fun entry in the series with a highlight of seeing Hugh Beaumont as the smarmy Ed.
