Season 7 Delivers Again
Samuel-Shovel9 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
In "The Seven", George tells Susan he wants to name their firstborn Seven in honor of Mickey Mantle. He gets upset when he finds out her cousin is planning on stealing that idea. Jerry starts dating a woman he met at an antique shop but gets weirded out when she continues to only wear one outfit. Kramer and Elaine fight over the ownership of a child's bike. Jerry starts keeping a tab on Kramer's food consumption from Jerry's apartment.

Another episode, another hit! I feel like all the interwoven plots really work in this one. The inclusion of Newman is always a welcome sight and George's antics are absolutely classic. Some people say that Season 7 is past the apex of Seinfeld's run but this season continues to deliver solid episodes.

My only issue with this episode is that it isn't the seventh episode of season seven.

Episode title says 7 but its more like 10

The seven is yet another brilliant episode in this brilliant TV sitcom. George wants to name is future child seven and is convinced it is the most unique name. Jason Alexander does a great job in showing a frustrated and infuriated George getting worked up over petty issues. He hilariously tells Susan to stay calm when he gets worked up and puts his head out of the window. This and his portrayal throughout the series is one of many reasons why I think George is best Seinfeld character, in my humble opinion.

Meanwhile Jerry is dating a girl who always wears the same dress like Superman always wore the same uniform. And Elaine and Kramer have an amusing fight over a bike and the validity of oral contracts.

This episode is your typical run of the mill Seinfeld episode. It is intelligent, funny, unique and showcases great performances from the main 4.

"So this is the Fortress of Solitude"
juanmaffeo29 August 2016
A somewhat uneven episode, it is enjoyable in itself but it lacks the creativity and craft of The Rye or The Caddy.

Three story lines. Elaine and Kramer's bike situation, George and his baby names and Jerry and his one-dress girl. Out of the three, Jerry's is the best. It actually has one of the best ideas of the entire series: a person who always uses the same clothe! That's gold, Jerry! Gold! It is incredibly relatable and the way they handled it only makes it funnier. Unfortunately the other two stories aren't quite on the same level of quality.

George's story kind of comes and goes. Sometimes it's really funny, sometimes it's really annoying, but above all, is borderline ridiculous. Jerry's story is handled in a wacky way, but it is a relatable situation, but George's isn't. I don't know, it doesn't seem like a funny idea. And Elaine and Kramer bike issue is only funny with Newman. Here he reaffirms he is the best supporting character of the series and whenever he is on screen the story gets more interesting.

Overall, a sometimes funny, sometimes hilarious, sometimes dull episode.

Warning: Spoilers
I guess George could marry Susan's cousin! I can't believe I thought of it but it's been long enough. Yes it just shows how tone deaf George could be and inappropriate he could be. I was glad they took his name! But it was hilariously funny too. Seinfeld managed to do this kind of thing time and again.

Meanwhile Kramer's mooching takes new heights and becomes more irritating. He also is quite annoying with Elaine and acting like a jerk. Again it's brilliantly executed so what could have been awful turned out to be memorable and entertaining.

Jerry's plot is less interesting but centered on his tendency to obsess over inconsequential things and destroys another romance.

The only main character that wasn't annoying in this episode was Elaine .

Rating though is a ten for their ability to take what could have been one of the worst episodes and instead made it one of the best and funniest of the series.

George Is Nuts
Hitchcoc23 February 2023
This is another George obsessing episode. He and Susan are having dinner with man and his pregnant wife. He recommends that they call the newborn "Soda." Of course, it is as stupid a name as exists. Later, George tells Susan if they have kids the name he will want is Seven (after Mickey Mantle's number). This leads to a complete blowout on his part, intimidating the family, being thrown out of the hospital while she is in labor. It seems that the original couple decided to use "Seven" for a name. Now George can't use it because it's not original anymore. One can only wonder why Susan would have anything to do with him at this point.

The Six is a better name.

March 12th 2023rd.

What happens In This episode? George fights to keep the name Seven.

Jerry dates a girl who wears the same dress.

Elaine hurts her neck. Kramer cures her and he wants the bike.

Kramer wants a girls bike.

Story and production: The George's story and Jerry's story were the only interesting bits of this episode.

Elaine and Kramer Fued felt like rushed filler. Although the Newman scene was the only good bit of the episode.

Leave it up to fictional Bible stories to be a highlight.

Highlight: Newman scene. George fights for a name. Jerry trying to figure out why the girl wears the same dress

Villian: Kramer took Elaine too literally.

Girlfriend Attractiveness Level: Jerry's girl was a good 6.6.

Goof: I wish there was an inside look on to why the girl wore the same dress.

What can be learned?: Keep original names to yourself.

Verdict: Lucky 7. Though 6 is forever fortunate.

Fatal flaw in the story
rooster_davis29 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I checked the 'spoiler' box just to be safe...

As one of the subplots of this episode, Elaine buys a girls' Stingray bike like one she always wanted as a kid. When she hurts her neck, she says she'd give the bike to anyone who could make the pain go away. Kramer is there, does a wrench job on her neck (which seems to fix the pain) and then he asks for the bike. She says 'no way are you getting this bike' and the argument is on as to whether she really should have to give it to him - a dilemma that is eventually mediated by Newman, who awards the bike to Kramer.

There was one big mistake in all this. After he fixes her neck, Kramer says 'You can bring that bike over anytime.' Right there he gave her permission to bring the bike over whenever she chose, even say 20 years later. She didn't have to give him the bike then or anytime she didn't feel like it - just 'anytime'. She could have kept the bike. As long as he was holding her to her precise word about giving away the bike, she should have held him to 'anytime' as to when he got it.

Sixxes or Sevens
safenoe20 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Here George is overly obsessed with baby names big time and he suggests that friends name their baby Soda, which rhymes with Dakota which does happen to be a popular name by the way. Anyway, then George suggests the name Seven, and maybe he was inspired by the Brad Pitt movie Seven released just one year earlier. Also maybe George was inspired by hard rocker Nikki Sixx in coming up with Seven, so sixxes and seven.

Wayne Knight returns as Newman, and he shot to superstardom after co-starring with Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct just a few years before. Anyway, Newman tries to be Solomon in adjudicating a dispute between Elaine and Kramer over a girl's bike.

George: ''I'M FAMILY! I'M HAVING SEX WITH MY COUSIN!''

I like the bit where I got disgusted when George says since he could marry Susan's cousin's daughter since she will become Susan's second-cousin??? Typical Seinfeld jokes...
