Herbie is one of those students who is the bane of the existance of teachers and principals alike a smooth talking wheeler dealer who can smell a sucker a mile away. I always knew Bruno Kirby from City Slickers (I didn't realize this but he was in one of the Godfather movies as well) but this is how he got his start playing the kid that you love to hate. Even the students in the auto shop aren't safe from his scams and rackets. You look at him and think to yourself that he will either wind up in prison or in politics. His parents don't seem to feel anything is wrong with their little darling and that is the sad part. What is really despicable about him is that he was willing to let a fellow student get in trouble instead of owning up to what he did.

Herbie is caught up in many money making schemes.
A good episode, B. Kirby Jr appeared as Herbie before and would portray him again in later episodes. He would be the young Clemenza in "The Godfather Part II" (1974). In this one he sells duplicate tickets to a school show, nearly getting the school treasurer in trouble. Trivia note-Bruce Kirby the real life father of Kirby Jr, plays his father in this episode.
