A student finds a 17th century amulet that once belonged to a witch and gives it to her roommate Meg. Its powers are somewhat too strong, so Meg has to go to hospital. After Sydney visited Meg, she's really worried. She also discovers a pentagram on a stone in the woods and then asks Zanda, an expert on witchcraft, a strange lady with purple glasses, about the amulet and what danger it may cause. To make things worse, another student thinks he could use the powers of the amulet and takes it from Karen. Sydney and Nigel go looking for a book of spells that once belonged to the same witch as the amulet, believing that a solution could somehow present itself.
