The statue of the Jade Empress was lost 700 years ago. When a dam is planned to be opened to flood the valley where the statue is supposed to be, Sydney Fox is called to Hong Kong for help. One engineer working on the dam is accidentally her father (Fred Dryer as Randall Fox). He expects Sydney to find the statue in 2 days – yes, after everyone else tried in vain for 700 years. Sounds easy, doesn't it?
Remember how touching it was when Lara Croft met her daddy in the first Tomb Raider" movie? Relic Hunter", imitating quite a lot of the Tomb Raider trademarks, anyway, tried the same here, but somehow the episode is too talkative and the newly introduced family members of Sydney, including daddy's new girlfriend (looks like a dwarf next to Fred Dryer), are simply not interesting enough, thus the idea of a family background was not followed up by the next episodes, fortunately.
